I've recently brought a new BBQ which I use for smoking, and this thermometer has helped my cooks no end. I was relying on using the temperature gauge on the BBQ lid; turns out that's not the most accurate gauge so i was cooking at too high a temperature and drying out my cooks. The readout is easy to see, and it's quick, meaning that i don't have to hae the lid open too long ot check the temperatures. As an added benefit the chances of me poisening anyone have gone down significantly since owning one of these
