These are great for those who want to try and do guitar repairs. I'm sure that if you are a professional luthier you'll want professional tools sort of like a master auto mechanic using tools from a wholesale box store instead of a high quality name brand tools. These are great because if you want to dabble with guitars and you (like me) watched a few online video's and think you'd like to give it a go but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars to purchase name brand tools only to find that repairing guitars just isn't your thing (again like me) these will work great for that! I just realized after messing around with all the knowledge I got from watching video's the reason that people go to luthier schools and become professional luthiers is because only a few can just watch some video's and be good at it. I just take my guitars to the local shop and have them set up and they work so much better than the hours I spent trying to make them sound good. I hope this helps but I also hope that this doesn't discourage you from trying your hand at working on guitars. I had a lot of fun messing around with my guitars and if it weren't for having a great little guitar store close to my home I'd probably still be messing around with luthier work and who knows I might have gotten good at it eventually.

The kit is decent for the price ! I thought maybe this fret file would be the one cheapo to get through the Chibson , and cheap guitars I tend to work on … it did an excellent job of fret work, and was better than a couple others I’ve got off Amazon… Stew Mac they ain’t ! The fret covers are nice and mine weren’t sharp… the lil hammer is cute… not sure how well it will work for whacking frets though…and the fret level tool was accurate. Great little kit to get ya started working on frets .

This kit comes in handy. For what it costs, you cannot go wrong. You get a lot of good tools you may need, and it's reassuring to know you have them when you may need them. Five stars all the way for me.

First of all go spend more money on a good tool set, I was trying to save money and the reviews said the tool was good but the Guitar Luthier Tool Kit is not very safe to use, the Fret rocker is only safe to use on 2 sides you will damage your frets, I almost destroyed mine trusting it's accuracy, chasing unlevel frets that were level, and the fret crown tool will damage your guitars fret board it is too deep and will scar your fret board if you remove the tape to get it closer to the fret for crowning. The hammer is ok, the fret protectors for cleaning the frets are ok, the stones are ok, but that's it.

Was an inexpensive purchase and no-frills no case no bag Works well I utilized it to repair my guitar and take the buzz out of my strings I use both the hammer and the file with the jig

I didn't know I needed these tools until I got them. Fret installation and fitting made much easier with this set of tools.

I waited weeks to receive this kit, and was hopeful as I have seen some people get decent tools from this kit, but I was the unlucky one this time. The kit is useless. I have a Fret Guru 2 with honed edges that are dead flat. When I placed the fret rocker from this kit against the Fret Rocker, every single side was uneven and I could see daylight through the unevenness. I then tried the fret file, and it wouldn't even reach my medium jumbo frets. It did absolutely nothing. I tried it without a fretboard protector, and it still wouldn't reach the fret but did scuff the fretboard. The hammer rattled when I picked it up. At least tightening down the hammer faces made a usable fret seating hammer. The stones are OK. I wasn't expecting pro quality tools, but on perfectly level frets adjusted with pro luthier tools, this fret rocker rocks. Using this would actually make the frets uneven. Most of my reviews lean very positive, but this is pure junk.

I bought these tools to help maintain repair and build guitars and other string instruments like ukelele and bass guitar I didn't want to spend a lot of money until I know I am going to be able to do the job myself so an ideal stepping stone to get me started as my own guitar tech , having done a great job on my main guitar I'm planning to go a step further and build a guitar from scratch so I will upgrade my tools at some point but these will do the job for a while, I'll keep them handy in my travel kit even after the upgrade as I find them quite useful

I wanted some introductory tools for guitar repair so these will get you off the ground. I checked the fret rocker for accuracy (using an engineering straight edge) and the 3rd side is a little rounded so wont be accurate. The hammer has a nice weight to it and the shields work well. I think if you use this as a starter package knowing you get what you pay for, so be aware of the limitations, then you will be ok
