All the ports you'll ever need... if you get them all working! It runs EXTREMELY hot -- beware!
Update Oct 18, 2019:1. As promised, I was going to update on the USB that wasn't working. Unfortunately, yes, metallic USB sticks for some reason are not working on this adapter. But I do have some newer 3.0 USB sticks that work flawlessly, so I'm not sure on that one!2. I have downgraded the stars on this, because aside from that issue that renders half of the available sticks usable, I recently upgraded Android phones and was in need to make a backup of the micro SD cards on them only to find out that the micro SDs weren't 'locking' into position and therefore are not being read by my laptop! Long story short, I had to get an SD adapter and use on the other port (such a good thing it offers both options, except only 50% of them work!).3. This unit gets extremely hot when only a couple of ports are being used and for short periods (less than 30 minutes at a time!) I find this to be a hazard so I've only used the adapter when necessary as opposed to always have it running. I do own a different, single adapter (USB-C to USB-A) so this is what I've been using for using USB sticks, especially when I have my laptop, well, on my lap. :) However, this may be an issue if you mainly use your laptop on a desk and would like to continuously have external disks attached, etc.As a final note, I'm presently trying to resolve this issue directly with the seller as Amazon Support was unable to help me other than the basic troubleshooting, until I hear back from the seller. I'll update once this takes place!---- OLD REVIEW ----I really like this adapter because it doesn't compromise charging and you get two 3.0 USB, HDMI and Ethernet, plus the SD adapter. When I had my previous MacBook Air, I had to get an adapter specifically for the Ethernet port as on occasion I needed to check the broadband connection or change settings in the modem/router. I chose this one with this port, so I didn't need to have two adapters at hand but only use this one.So far the only issue I have encountered is that I couldn't use one of my older 2.0 USB sticks (all metal) because of the thickness. I don't have any other old sticks at hand to check if it's a one off scenario, but once I try a different one, I will update this with the results.Highly recommended!

The only adapter needed for MacBook Pro - Ethernet is what truly sets it apart from the competition.
I’m just so happy this product exists. My WiFi router went down right before school started, so I was stuck doing homework and zoom calls using my phone as a hotspot. It gets expensive when you don’t have unlimited data. I had an available Ethernet cable I could use though, so I went on the hunt for a USB-C hub that provided the Ethernet plug for my 16” MacBook Pro... it was tough to find. As soon as I saw this I looked at reviews and purchased. It fits seamlessly into the look of Apple products. They have it in either space gray, or silver so you can choose whichever color your computer is. It’s really a great color match. There are only a few cons to keep in mind:A) you won’t be able to use the plug and a case on the bottom at the same time.B) it’s not perfectly flush with the computer while it’s plugged in.C) you will need to wiggle it around a bit to get it to go in.To me these were perfectly fine, the pros heavily outweigh the cons. This will be the only adapter you should ever need. You can throw your cameras SD card in, plug into an Ethernet, two USB ports, an hdmi port and you’ll be able to charge the computer at the same time. Don’t forget you’ll still have 2 additional thunderbolts open on the opposite side of where you plugged the hub in.I’m so happy it also came a day earlier than expected. Also think it’s cute they include a small black leather pouch to store it when you’re not using it.5 stars.

HDMI works higher than expected @50 Hertz and you can also use Apple HDMI Thunderbolt passthrough
Great dongle, prefect as a desk dock.HDMI - higher refresh than other 3rd party dongles I have tried.Max screen resolution refresh rates3440 x 1440 @ 50 Hertz2560 z 1080 @ 60 HertzPurgo also supports Apple Thunderbolt dongles in passthrough, so you can connect the official Apple HDMI dongle for 4k@60 Hertz, pass power through it and also use the USB port on the Apple dongle all at the same time.[see photos]More stable than the Apple HDMI dongle - my Dell 34" curved monitor would crash a few times a day with the Apple dongle @ 60Hertz, symptoms are it makes a pop noise, goes black then comes back on. I have not had this issue using the Purgo @ 50 Hertz.MicroSD slot is 100% inside the dongle. I have inserted a card in the photos so you can see that it does not stick out at all. This is great to have backup storage always connected seamlessly when you desk dock; sure microSD is not the fastest, but for continuous backup of changes it works just fine.NetworkConnects at 1 gpbs and acquires a DHCP lease within 6 seconds.Negative [but this is the same with every 3rd part dongle I have ever tried]A wireless keyboard that uses USB receiver, such as the MS Sculpt, will not be connected when you plug in the USB-C dongle. You have to remove the USB Keyboard receiver, then re-insert it to get it to wake up. The only dongles I have found that you do not have this issue are official Apple ones.Workaround: Plug your USB keyboard receiver into the USB port on the Apple HDMI dongle, then plug that into Purgo dongle; also works with cheap Apple USB dongle plugged into the USB-C port on the Purgo, but then you have to power via another Thunderbolt port on the MacBookPro.

Works great, but careful when adjusting laptop position.
Works great, but it's very very easy to knock it slightly when moving the laptop slightly on my desk - which cuts the HDMI cable - cue 15 seconds of screen off, screen on, screen off, screen on again.Otherwise works a charm, I use it almost everyday.
