Very logical and straightforward approach
This book is an excellent summary of the basic techniques of the Golden Dawn system of magic, and as a reference for many other Orders who utilize similar techniques.Yes, this area has been covered many times before, but this time it is ordered into a logical structure which flows well and builds upon itself. The language and images are clear, and the explanations of each step are the clearest I have ever read. Despite having some knowledge in this area, I found I was still learning new things and having other rituals I have performed without thinking finally given a clear explanation.Highly recommended!

Worth its weight in gold
My opinion of this book is very high.did I learn anything new? Not much. Just good solid magickial golden dawn principles put together in a very understandable and usable format. I loved this book. I been a student of this art for 35 years and this is now one of my favorite books. Others that have been around that long might say it's to basic. But it's not. It has everything you need in it. Everything.

Practical GD Magic Made Clear
The Ciceros give a clear and concise overview of practical Golden Dawn magical practice in this book. It is arranged in a logical manner with clearly explained material and diagrams which enhance the discussion of the materials in the text.In the over 25 years of experience I have with the Golden Dawn and its practice, this is the one book that should be read, often, by those whom are not only interested in Golden Dawn practical magical work, but by those whom have experience with this system of magic.Cannot recommend this book enough!

One of the best books for beginners
After years of studying the Golden Dawn system of magic, I found this book to be a refreshing look at the system. Rather than following the traditional order of teaching through the grades, this is more like an encyclopedia of knowledge that can be practically applied to the work by a beginning or intermediate magician. There are new meditations and exercises which greatly aid you if you are not a member of a temple or working with a teacher who can direct you. There are very clear explanations of each of the rituals and how to do them, including the inner visualizations that you normally do not get in a book. It does not contain the initiation rituals as it is not a book for self initiation, nor does it contain the symbolism found only in those initiation rituals. However, do not let that stop you from using this book! It is a solid study guide for the practicing magician and is a valuable asset to anyone interested in the Golden Dawn system of magic.

Wonderful guide to Golden Dawn Magic!
Excellent book! Wonderful anthology of GD practical ritual, meditations, magical tables, etc. The Cicero's always come through with powerful and helpful books. This book is great for either beginners or advanced practitioners.

Another great book from the Ciceros
I really enjoyed the author's unique (to me) expansions on the various topics and rituals. I have almost every book written or edited by them and I feel this is a worthy addition to my library. My only criticism is the way the invoking, banishing and other variations of the pentagram and hexagram rituals are written out; it feels like needless space filler.

Clear and concise introduction to the GD!
This book is a great introduction to the GD. It is very well written, and very engaging. Straightforward and to the point, it gives just enough history and background to validate the pedigree of the material. I enjoy this book very much, and will definitely recommend it!

Jam-packed!
Great book. Jam-packed full of information. Very concise and to the point. Not overly "wordy" like many other books on this subject. This book will take you a long time and many re reads to get all the information in it. It contains a good deal of basic exercises and visualizations too. This is a great book for anyone interested in the Golden Dawn or Western Mysticism in general. I'm happy with my purchase.

Golden Dawn Magic
The new book by Chic & Tabatha Cicero, "Golden Dawn Magic," is an introduction to the practices of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn: its unique selling point is that it goes into slightly more depth than other such introductory guides. So for example, it does not simply describe the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, or the Middle Pillar Ritual, but outlines preliminary exercises of which a practioner could make use in order to get used to those rituals beforehand. Moreover, advanced techniques such as god-form assumption, tarot divination, etc are mentioned, and the results are combined to show a Golden Dawn magician would formulate a complete "Z2" Magic of Light Ritual. It is probably most helpful to think of this as a companion volume to the Ciceros' "The Essential Golden Dawn," the difference being that the former book outlines the theory, whilst the latter the practice. Nevertheless, it is at the end of the day only an introduction, and as such the authors continually refer to their other publications as shedding more light on the subject, for example: Self Initiation into the Golden Dawn; Tarot Talismans; as well as Israel Regardie's The Golden Dawn itself.
