These Books Changed Michael Egwuagu’s Life.
This book along with Don Miguel Ruiz’s “Four Agreements” single handedly changed my life. I was training for The 2017 NFL Draft in Dallas, TX from January 1st -March 17th, and had the pleasure of reading these two books along with a couple more. These books helped me with the internal struggles i was having with myself. I understand now that love is a pure result of the love coming outward from within you. I also understand and know how to identify when negative emotions are arising within myself and i can suppress them before transferring that emotional poison unto someone else. These books are absolutely AMAZING, and GAME CHANGING, and i promise you guys (Amazon Community) that whenever i get my platform to be able to influence and speak on important manners, i will use these books for reference!!

This book totally changed my outlook and perspective about real love. So many people go into relationships hoping to extract happiness from the other person, when really you are the only person who can make yourself happy. As someone who never liked to be single out of fear of loneliness, I picked up this book at the perfect time and I'm experiencing a calm and tranquility that I never have before. There's a part in the book that also struck a chord with me: we have to actively hunt down our own parasitic and debilitating thoughts, otherwise they will consume us and we will live in our own perpetual hell on earth. I've always been hard on myself and it's taken a lot to overcome my own self-rejection. I still have my moments, and that's where this books has helped me immensely. I just bought a copy for a friend - it's too valuable not to share.

Good ideas, some missteps when discussing trauma
At first, I was all in on this book. I enjoyed the self-love aspect of this book and how important it is to love yourself before trying to love someone else. However, the author lost me towards the middle/end of the book when he made two distinct points. The first point was when the author poses the idea that if you are in an abusive relationship and don’t leave, that you do not truly love yourself. While in the most absolutely basic sense, I suppose this could be true. However, I feel as though the author overlooks the myriad of barriers that prevent people from leaving abusive relationships, such as financial dependence or lack of emotional support. Perhaps these are factors he considers, but they were not included in the book.Additionally, the author makes a point that roughly boils down to “if you have been a victim of rape/molestation/other similar trauma, and it still affects you, that is your fault because you have not forgiven your abuser.” At its most basic tenets, I suppose this could be true, but again, I feel the author overlooks the complications of dealing with trauma and the difficulties associated with recovery. It is not so easy to forgive, and it is even more difficult to forget.Overall, I think the author’s philosophy is mostly sound, but I feel he forgets that life is complicated. It is messy, difficult, and there are more grey areas than there are black and white. His ideologies are built around a form of the human race that doesn’t exist, and won’t exist unless we all buy into what he has to say. I enjoyed it for the most part, but I think we need to consider that no philosophy on life or love is completely sound or attainable, especially not the one presented by the author.Perhaps, for you, this book will change your life and outlook on love, but I caution those who have been victims of major trauma. Your struggles are not as simple as this book presents, and you are still a whole and complete person, regardless of how you fit into this philosophy.

Must Read - Perfect Book to Build Perfect Relationships
I highly recommend this book. I read the paperback and this is one of the most influential books that I have read. It talks about the unconditional love and how the fear based relationship and beliefs lead to suffering and drama in life. The Mastery of Love includes:1. Why domestication and the image of perfection lead to self-rejection2. The war of control that slowly destroys most relationships3. Why we hunt for love in others, and how to capture the love inside us4. How to finally accept and forgive ourselves and othersThis book is very thought provoking and will lead you to think about all the relationships. You need to have an open mind before reading this book. Now, I am really excited to read: Four agreements. I again highly recommend this book.

First you need to know: what is love?
It's difficult to give this review an adequate title. In reading this work I have taken yet another step towards self knowledge, towards a more complete SELF. This author starts at the very beginning in order to build a mastery of love: your human self. The overwhelming message is that you must first love and accept yourself before you can love and accept another. The truly stunning part of the entire document is that he has established that the traditional methods of raising and rearing young humans is an act of domestication. This domestication then becomes the root of the many barriers to self love and therefore the ability to truly love others, whether it be familial love, friendship love or romantic love. The only remaining question, which brings its own set of follow-on questions is: is there a better way to instill necessary skills and knowledge in the young, or should we find a way to apply a cure for the domestication once we have reached maturity? This book is a"must read" for anyone who is trying to awaken their inner self.

Remarkable read
Reading your book "The Mastery Of Love" don Miguel Ruiz ,what a remarkable read that is.Much of what I read comes from my own inner guidance and I couldn't have said it any better. It has been simplified to such extent that anyone will grasp its wisdom, even a growing child.I am so grateful for being a rebel- undomesticatable.I'm so grateful for following my inner most sacret zing, despite all abuse, despite all judgement, despite the pain and insecurities I've moved along with.I feel blessed, truly.I can only be MYSELF. It is the simplest and most easiest things of all.The hardest thing of all is to shed family members, always with sincere LOVE & GRATITUDE.Never because you hate them and ALWAYS BECAUSE YOU LOVE AND RESPECT SELF.Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us all.It goes without saying that I highly reccomend this book to anyone who is in the path of SELF LOVE.Their own unique path.

Eye-Opening.
Admittedly I thought this was going to be a bit 'space-cadetish' when it was recommended to me by a fellow survivor of divorce, but having too much time on my hands to keep delving deeper into matters that have never spiked my interest before and finding myself sometimes pleasantly surprised and somewhat changed by the end at times, I thought I'd give this a whirl. And wow, I was changed. In short, I think this book should be handed out in schools. I don't think I've ever read anything like this before but it has really opened my eyes as well as a world of new possibilities.I think this will be a new favourite author for me.
