Misleading - Not recommended
I have to admit that this is a catchy title, but the previous reviewer nailed it: Don't waste your money! There's just not much here. I was into martial arts for 8 years, and at least two of the author's suggestions (in my opinion) could actually end up getting you killed. After reading this, I'm convinced that anyone can get a book published. Save your money.

Off the Radar
This book is filled with Tips and Tactics for turning your pocket flashlight into an effective weapon. That's right, I said pocket flashlight. I myself carry the Mini-Maglite® AA but any flashlight that fits in your pocket works with these techniques. Let's face it, anywhere you're not allowed to carry weapons is the best place to have one and a pocket flashlight flies under the radar. Nobody will give it a second thought, but if you study this book and practice the techniques that Phil Elmore has laid out so clearly and concisely you will have a very effective weapon for your defense in an emergency. Even if you've had no combat training of any sort, you will find his instructions easy to follow. Kudos to Mr. Elmore for a job well done.

Rip Off
This book is a rip off 90% of this book has nothing to do with fighting with a flashlight the parts that do can be summed up in one sentence: Put the flashlight in your hand and use hammer blows to the head and face repeatedly. That is all; he does make some references to martial arts that might be helpful. This is a waist of money; do not buy it if you want something useful.

Not worth the time and effort let alone the money.
As someone in the martial arts this book is a waste of time. I would not recommend it at all.

Not worth the money
I ordered and reciever this book.....It is very out dated and not worth the price.....the author is using old outmode flashlights that were used in the 1950s and 60s......however the photos and printing are clear.......they should have included some K.Y with the purchase......

Never Without My Flashlight
As a martial arts instructor/student I continually look for resources that assist me in my growth. I have carried a wooden kubotan for years as a key chain. The utility of having a flashlight with me as part of my EDC (every day carry) makes a great deal of sense. Not only is it a practical light tool, it offers another self defense tool for our PC world. I now have an entire "arsenal" of small, black, very bright flashlights. Phil Elmore's Flashlight Fighting is another resource from which I gained additional ideas for my own self defense and teaching. His focus on qualities to look for in a tactical pocket flashlight will help the novice make more informed decisions when they purchase. While it is difficult to adequately communicate individual defense techniques through the written word, Mr. Elmore lays a foundation on which anyone can build.

Good instruction book
Doesn't go into great detail but gives you enough of an idea on how you can use your torch for self defense if necessary. Arrived very quickly in great shape. I recommend to anyone interested in self defense without carrying a gun.

Misleading and BS
The most stupid book I've ever read. I lost 30 minutes of my life reading this very thin book. You will learn that a small light can't be use as a club and a big light don't fit in a pocket. The price was very low (3.95$), but it doesn't worth it.Shipping was very fast.

Maybe helps some 'see the light'!
The book is ok containing a few anecdotal statements and something of an in-depth guide to the types of flash-lights available.Maybe I was expecting something else,in fairness the author does make clear his intent and offers a few other recommendations and tips on safety.

Really good!
I really enjoyable read from a guy who gives a totally new perspective to street fighting. I felt a lot of effort went into this. I'd recommend it.
