An Unexpected Surprise
I have read every book in this series and a novella or two and I was worried a few books back that it was coming off the tracks into becoming a bit too silly for serious plots. The last couple of books have relieved me of those concerns and the plots have gotten more depth and injected a more serious note into the series. This story revolves around a romance between Neona and Zoltan (that name always reminds me of the fortune telling game from Tom Hanks movie "Big") and starts with a mystery several hundred years old that Zoltan became a vampire so he could live long enough to solve it. This evolves into a romance that is a bit difficult since she tries to put an arrow through him in their first meeting (her opinion of him improves as the story goes along). The continuing overarching storyline of Master Han continues to dominate the novel and serves as the impetus for many of the actions in this story. This is definitely one of the better novels in the series since the very early book and I enjoyed it a LOT but I was a bit dissatisfied with the ending. I hope she does not drag the current overarching storyline out beyond the next book, it grows tiresome IMHO and I was hoping to see a bit more of the angels from the last book they make no appearance in this novel much to my disappointment.Great reading and I give it 4 Stars mainly for leaving so many threads dangling at the end, this is NOT a cliffhanger ending but there are several things left unresolved but it does have an ending for the romance in this book.

Best one yet!
Kerrelyn Sparks outdid herself on this one! The last two kind of bored me since it seemed to be mostly fighting in the books, but this one was much more about the romance. Zolten is trying to find the people who killed his village 800 or so years ago and stumbles upon a mystical place in Tibet with the help of the vampire Russell. There he is ambushed by a female (Neona), who with the help of her snow leopard manage to knock him out with the intent of using him for his sperm to get pregnant. Zolten is totally smitten and starts teasing Neona that he has to be in the right mood in order to get it up - which includes getting to know each other lol. This is how the entire book is - hilarious, romantic, and highly entertaining!

A few bumps, but did meet my expectations.
*DISCLAIMER*: Due to recent events, I shall now have a disclaimer before every review from now on. This review is based on MY opinions, MY past experience, and what I look for in a book. I WILL report ANY form of harassment/bullying ONLY after careful consideration. Thank you.I looked forward to this book for months, and the minute it was delivered to my kindle, I began reading. What I loved about this book, is that it is written well. The characters, and the book as a whole, are very entertaining and well rounded and consistent. After so many books in this series, Kerrelyn Sparks remains strong in her writing, because I laughed (really loud actually) and cried and remained hooked throughout the entire book. I also loved the action-packed scenes, the romance, the suspense, and the pace in which it all took place. After so many praises, then what are the few bumps I mentioned? Well for one, the plot was a little shaky. To me, Sparks kept you comfortable about the plot, and then she would throw a wrench and I was like "huh?" and I would get a little lost. Secondly, Zoltan's motivations for some things, to put vaguely, were confusing. If you buy this book and read it, I think you will see what I mean. *SPOILER* The motivations I'm talking about have to do with his father. Lastly, the ending. I personally didn't like the ending, because after all of the action and romance, the ending fell a little flat, however, based on the previous books, the ending does make sense. So, while there were a few aspects that I wasn't enthused about, this book did meet my expectations overall!Recommend?YES

Loved it
I absolutely love this series and this newest book is a true adventure. It was exciting, funny, tender, full of suspense and action, and a fun read in general. The main characters are well written with great chemistry and an enjoyable dynamic. You will wish they were real so they could be your friends. Their characters are that good. The storyline was unique. The returning characters were still just as fun and enjoyable and necessary to the continuing saga (although, to be honest, I'm pretty much done with the whole Han thing). Kerrilyn Sparks is such an excellent author that I wish being immortal wasn't fiction so she could be one. Then she could write with vampire speed so there was a new book in this series every two or three at the most months.

Amazing!
Oh my gosh! Holy hotness!!! ok 15 books in and she just keeps getting better and better. I have read plenty of series that have 10 plus books to them and after the first 5 or so you pretty much get the same thing over and over. Well not with this series. Kerrelyn Sparks knows how to keep it fresh and new every time. This series has everything a paranormal romance reader wants and looks for. This book was INCREDIBLE. I loved the new twist this book brings. I was clapping, hooting and hollering throughout this book. I was also getting teary eyed because of all the emotion. Of course I can't forget to mention the drool worthy parts of the book as well. Yes this book had it all.I'm so excited and can't wait for the next book.

sweet with the series' trademark humor
Another solid chapter in the Love At Stake series. Zoltan is super sweet & I adore that once he falls he falls hard & fast! Neona is an interesting character - she is a warrior woman, but also a healer, and so her she's not as blood thirsty as some of her sisters! And while this story is full of sweet and funny (hello, trademark for this series, and I LOVE it!) it's also packed full of action with a couple battles w/ Master Han's minions throughout. We also get the return of Darafur (is it wrong that I really want him to get redeemed somehow & not be the big bad??) and some things that I think set up nicely for future books.: )

Not bad
The first half of the story was SLOW. I skimmed through it. The second half was better. There was a twist at the end. Can't wait to see where it goes.

Secret Warrior Women meets Lonely Vamp
Vamp Zoltan lost his parents in 1241, as a teen, leaving him looking for answers, til at 29 a friendly camp turns him allowing him to find those answers for eternity. An arrow held by Russell leads to more clues, and Zoltan follows him to a remote hideaway in Tibet. Where he meets a wonderful beauty, a warrior, Neona, who knocks him on the head, ties him up and attempts to 'take his seed'.She's curiously innocent despite her warrior strength, and Zoltan is instantly smitten. As well as progressing the overall vampire war story arc, creating another set of creatures and leading up to a penultimate battle, this is a wonderful, funny and sexy love story.

Something has got to give.
Kerrelyn Sparks is one of my regular authors and i have felt for the past few books that it is almost like she is rushing to finish the book and this one is no different. First off i did enjoy the book it was a pleasant afternoon read, Zoltan and Neona were pleasant characters who fall in love at first sight with many of our favorite previous character, a mouthy cat and some legendary creatures along for the ride.On a bad note the book is very 2D, very flat. Neona is a 2000 year old amazonian worrier yet her character was very weak she falls for Zaltan almost immediately and Zaltan's character centered in his need for romance neither character really has any depth. The story line was like previous plots with everything very bullet pointed "and then...and then..." and while the introduction of new sifters was interesting the fountain of youth and its abilities was a bit to outlandish and everything fell into place too easily there was no grit to the book. But cliffhangers and future romances set you up to feel the need to keep on reading the series even if it is feeling rushed.Overall a pleasant read but the series is losing the sparkle it once had for me.

I liked this one
This was a great storyline. Enjoyed the unique story Zoltan. And funny to, lol but still they couldn't rescue the Dragon boy, hopefully they get them back. Would have loved to hear more about Nina in the school and where Zoltan now going to live.

Mortal?! What?!
Warning: Spoilers!I did quite enjoy this book and thought it was great to get to know Zoltan's story and life. However, the ending was very abrupt and strange. Everyone seemed to forget that the little dragon boy is still missing, and what is the deal with Zoltan becoming human again?! What was the point in that?

How to Seduce a Vampire (Without Really Trying) (Love at Stake)
Fantastic story about a different vampire to the rest of the characters in other books. Loved him and the way in which he won the lady over. I have always liked this character, and lived finding out about him and his past, present and sex appeal.
