Not like the old Sargent pliers.
It's OK, no big deal. A bit flimsy, nothing at all like the original Sargent parallel jaw pliers. Light weight, and not as robust as I expected. The only reason I'm not sending them back is that they're not made in China.

Timeless quality
I’ve had a pair of Maun pliers since well before Amazon was founded. They’re precision tools. The unique design means they can exert a lot of force and the parallel jaws are great for exerting uniform force, The cutter will snip most any wire. Good tools are timeless. I can’t recommend these highly enough.

A very nice pair of pliers
These are great. Well made, and British. Comfortable to use, and just generally "nice"A great addition to any toolbox.

nicely made
Just like my dad's original 'Bernard' pliers, and the same sort as Brenton on BBCtv 'repair shop' uses, these pliers are particularly useful when you need the jaws to always be parallel. They also have a useful groove in one jaw which will keep a wire perpendicular to the top edge, thus making it easy to bend the wire 90 degrees and straight. Terrific addition to any toolbox.

Why didn't I buy these 30 years ago?
Transforms your understanding of pliers. Now I know why things slip and ping out of an ordinary pair. Expensive-ish, but sturdy. Quite large and clumsy, so a smaller version would be welcome for more refined work.
