I have an old 1150 motherboard that works really well. Unfortunately I had discovered that the sata connections cannot support some of the larger hard drives past 6tb in Linux without achi errors. I figured I would try this as a potential fix.I should mention that my configuration had ubuntu server on a solid state and 3 10tb drives connected to the sata connections on the motherboard before purchasing this card.Install went easy, the included sata cables was an added bonus. Plugged the 3 10 tb drives on the card. Motherboard recognized card and detected drives, did a fresh installation of Ubuntu server on a solid state and was amazed! no error messages and read and write speeds are within parameters. If you are looking for a good 4 port sata card,look no further. Would definitely buy again

Great add-on card that allows you to increase the capacity of SATA devices. The review here isn't really about the card - it pretty much does what it is supposed to do. The review is about the shipping and follow-up from the seller. In one word - awesome. The shipping was very fast and everything arrived perfectly. Even came with SATA cables, which was an additional plus. Didn't have to go hunting around for some. The follow up form the company to ask how everything worked out was very good, too. I would recommend anyone to purchase from them, and if I have the chance again, I would, too.

It is incredible difficult to find a compact 4-port SATA controller, but this one is PERFECT. There's no wasted space, it's as small as it can possibly be. More importantly, it works great. It has a Marvell 88SE9215 chipset, which was automatically detected on my system and all the drives connect without issue. When I opened the box, I was surprised to find that not only did it come with 4 SATA cables, but also it has a 1-to-4 SATA power splitter also! VERY HAPPY with this purchase.

You never know if plug n play will work on any given system. The SATA card a bought a couple years ago, would not work in WIN 10, and then the BIOS would only allow so many SATA ports to be active.This unit worked like a charm. The only hiccup I had was, that HOT SWAP would not work unless I had a fixed drive attached to the card, then it worked great. This was no issue for me, but something to be aware of.

I actually bought two of these and have them in the same Windows 10 PC. They work as expected and it comes with the needed cables! I would buy it again and recommend the product.

Installation was a snap. Did not need the included installation CD. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars from me is because a small plastic cover had detached during shipping. It simply snapped into place. Everything worked the first time and after two weeks still works.

So yes the drivers are on a disk. This is not a plug and play device. My HP tower only allows for 3 drives total - I wanted to add a bluray reader. After reading the instructions it works great! I may decide to add another internal hard drive.

I used this product for 7 months before it failed suddenly and caused the system it was installed in to cease to boot. I emailed the manufacturer about warranty support (they don't make it easy to contact them). Turns out they won't stand behind their product for even a year. I'd find another manufacturer.
