A great book. It was recommended to me by my “styles&genres” tutor, absolutely worth its price and you’ll get quite concise info on some popular and not-so-popular yet essential-to-understanding-modern-music genres. If you can buy just ONE music book, buy THIS ONE.

This book provides a lot of useful information in a convenient and efficient format useful to anyone wanting to create music in these styles.

For any composer and/or arranger this book is a must. Especially if you are not a percussionist or set player.This book will show you how to properly notate not only drum parts, but also additional rhythm section parts such as bass, piano and guitar.Drummers no longer have to endure poorly (even inaccurate) written parts. The recorded examples are a great aid to hear what is actuallynotated. If you use Finale or Sibelius you can map out your percussion parts to play back properly using this book.

Valuable book to have in the practice room! Great for teachers and students of the music!
