When I ordered this I was worried it would be a sandpaper like surface. Thankfully it's not. It's a randomly textured rubber product. It provides very good grip as advertised/ I'm a lefty and have some damage to my right hand that gives me a little difficulty with racking the slide using a quick roll technique that puts the web of my right hand over the slide just in front of the site. This technique is fast but puts a a lot of pressure on my most damaged finger. The skin is thin and the slide serrations and edges really make it uncomfortable to do. I added the tape in hopes that it would allow me to grip more with the webbing, thumb knuckle, and first (well only in my case) knuckle of my index finger. It works like a charm. The surface is "soft" yet grippy. There's no risk of getting an abrasion if you slip off the area where the grip tape is applied. I shoot USPSA so speed is as important as accuracy. The tape allowed for improved time with any mag changes that required racking the slide, plus clearing the occasional light primer strike. I first installed this on a Glock 34 while my STI was getting serviced. The STI is back and I'm going to definitely put this on the slide.

I've only had it applied for about a week, and used for the first time today. I must say, this is pretty cool stuff! The rubber texture is exactly what I was looking for. It has a nice grippy feel WITHOUT irritating my skin. Thickness is just right to give it a feel without adding much. When applying I found it very malleable, and easy to cut. With a little heat it becomes even easier to form over difficult arias, and almost seems to help it stick. The adhesive (from my experience) seems properly tacky and durable. I can't speak to how long it will last, but I expect it to perform well. This is installed on my Glock 43, and I even built up a few layers on the back strap to improve the handguns feel. Cutting the product for a grip was tricky, and I don't see "EVERYONE" being able to do this properly. However, if you are a DIY'er, crafty, artistic, good at tooling, or looking at this product with confidence, you will be fine.

Four/Five stars. Really good product. Seems to be wearing well. Application not terribly difficult. Per the instructions, create a template, take your time and this stuff should stay put and offer the additional grip you're looking for. Have used on a couple of pistols and really like the feel/function. Can't attest to longevity just yet, but expect it to stick, stay and wear for a long time. Although I haven't tried, removal seems easy enough. Can see numerous other applications, but can't afford to use as liberally as desired... Probably should bite the bullet (pun intended!) and get a couple of packs; you'll use them. Recommend.

I got some of this for a slippery cell phone case and it worked great. Works great - gives an excellent grippiness in hand but does not stick to clothing much so devices still slip in and out of pockets well. Found a bunch of other uses for it and it has worked great as well. What is really surprising though is that it can be re-used - especially if it was originally on a flat surface. Just as it states there was no residue when I took it off to re-use it elsewhere. I was only removing it because the device itself this tape was on was now being discarded. When I would go to reapply it all I did was allowed the tape to warm up with just body heat from holding it in place and eventually it conforms to shape and sticks really well again (even though at first I was worried). I found using gentle external heat like a hair dryer on low heat will make this stuff shape itself to contours and stick really well, really fast. But you can achieve the same thing with just working it by hand but it will take much longer. Overall I love this stuff and am here to buy some more to apply to most of my Victorinox Swiss Army knives for a better grip.
