2mm. You know that is winch cable. No body needs line that heavy on a reel! The reel will break or man overboard before 90 will break.

How many strands is this line and is it spliceable Hollow core?

I think it depends on which version you order, how many strands it is. Some are 4, some are 8 strand. And, splice vs tieing (to my understanding) is two totally different methods of joining line. As one response said, there are many knots you can use to join fishing line. To splice it, I have no idea.
