Great Resource
Eyewitness books always are a great resource when learning about a culture. This book has wonderful pictures and descriptions of the cultures found in Africa.

Not quite what I purchased.
First off, from the picture featured here, I was very disappointed to receive a different book jacket for this Eyewitness: Africa series. It also took a rather long time for delivery of this item (and the book jacket was a disappointment). I don't know if I could trust this seller with future purchases. Overall I am not too pleased with this whole experience. I love reading books (two degrees in English) and still enjoy buying and holding a real book in my hands, not a Kindle or a Nook version of literature, so I was a little let down when a late delivery was further disappointing with a different jacket cover for this item. The adage of let the buyer beware might hold to be very true in this instance.

More trophy than knowledge.
I have another book just like it.. Except that one is compact and more complete. This works as a mantle piece on your bookshelf to let people know you are proud of your heritage.

Rural Africa
This book is part of the Eyewirness Books collection. It has a table of contents and index which is useful to readers looking for specific information. It contains informational introductions and many colorful photographs with detailded captions. Africa is broken into twenty-eight sections with headings such as home life ans self-adornment. This book covers everything from a step-by-step process of how they build their homes to what they use for eating, their daily lives, clothes, and entertainment. I must share a word of caution for using this book without proper instruction. From the title, one would expect that all of Africa would be represented throughout the book. However, the focus is on rural Africa and historical practices. There is hardly any mention of cities of the people who inhabit them.
