Not a half bad set
just got these in today, and I've already got one extremely good pro with these, that not alot of Bluetooth "makers" do when it comes to their products. The first thing ill point out, and by far my favorite feature thus far, is the fact that while these charge u CAN use them still. I've had several BT headsets, and headphones where while it's charging you CANNOT use it, at all. Secondly, being a HUGE music buff, i need good sound. I don't have a full range sound system in my car for no reason. The sound quality of these, listening to more metal/black metal/rock/punk styles of music, is exceptional. It's not horrible, of course its not the best out there, but for the price its not bad at all. It doesn't hit the extreme lows of say some rap/dub but there is still a presence of some moderate level bass. The mid-high range is decent, it does get slightly "scratchy" at extreme volumes but its not horrible. Last thing ill touch on is pairing. It paired quick and easy with my phone, samsung solstice. I did have a slight issue pairing it to my BT dongle on my comp but i realized i didn't have the "official" driver installed for it, which shouldn't have been a issue but it was. Found the disk for it and it paired with no issues, its a SMK-LINK VP6493. As of now there are no issues with this device. I've only given it 4 stars for now to leave, room, for any "early judgement" on the device. I got this more or less for flights as I've been traveling a lot lately. I will update this within the next couple weeks to let you guys know how it does traveling/while working. Edit - 9/24/2012 one thing i forgot to touch on, was how comfortable this was. At first it did seem a little small. it was a little annoying getting my hair around it. However after it was on it wasn't all that uncomfortable. A tad small but it fits and it doesn't "squeeze", and it doesn't yank on my ears. There is a video review for this item that touches on how comfortable this product is and he hits the nail on the head as some would say. edit - 10/13/2012 after a couple weeks, these headphones are still rolling, in most cases they outlast my phone *Samsung solstice* when I'm listening to music. call quality is good, I've only had a few instances where the other person couldn't hear me but I'm not positive if it was the headset as the phones the company i work for use suck, horribly. i use them daily while at work and home, the distance around the house is about 15-20 feet going through 1 or 2 walls, i know of 1 wall in the house that is a solid block wall and any connection *even my routers going through that wall directly to the other side* has issues with thick walls. I've also been on 3 flights with them and had no issues. occasionally however when at work it will cut out for a split second but its nothing to major. I've upped this to 5 stars for now, will keep you guys updated as to full longevity of them in a single use.

So far so good. Comfortable, good battery life, good range, good sound, easy-to-find buttons
So far, I've really enjoyed these relatively low-cost bluetooth headphones. I have not carried out a phone conversation on them, and so I cannot speak to how well they work there. However, I did test them to launch my phone's voice activation, and the phone was able to understand my request and execute it properly. Otherwise, I have been using these headphones with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Android phone) to listen to music. I have a fairly large head, but these headphones are comfortable. In fact, most of the time I forget that I'm even wearing them. Years ago, I owned a pair of Wi-Gear iMuffs that had a very similar design, but those iMuffs eventually caused my ears to hurt. I can wear these for long periods of time without any pinching. Also, the rigid band that goes around the back of my head doesn't interfere much with my neck. Overall, it is a very comfortable experience. Plus, whereas the iMuffs foam padding eventually degraded and flaked off, I feel like the pads on these headphones will be pretty sturdy. I haven't used the headphones for long, but I'm still running off of the factory charge. Other reviewers have commented on their extremely long battery life; I haven't had any experience that contradicts that. The range of the headphones is adequate. When I sit at my desk, my phone sits on its dock which is slightly more than an arm's length away, and I have no trouble maintaining a connection. I can get up and walk around my office without any trouble either. I will eventually lose connection when I walk down the hall, but I usually take my phone with me if I need to walk that far away. So I'm happy with the range. Having said that, a few times earlier today, the headphones dropped connection randomly. I was able to press the call button to get them to reconnect. I'm not sure what the problem was. I'm also not sure it wasn't related to my phone and not the headphones. It hasn't happened recently, and so I'm hoping it's just an odd fluke (interference?). I'm happy with the audio quality. They might not do as good of a job at rejecting noise as an inner-ear design; however, the pads of the headphones sit solidly on my ears, and so I generally don't notice most other office noises when I have them on. The sound of the music is clear. The bass is decent. I don't have any complaints about the sound quality. I was happy that all of the buttons are on a single headphone (the one on the right side), and all of the buttons face away from my head (i.e., none are wrapped up around the edge of the headphone). After a little training, it is easy to locate the skip buttons and the volume buttons. On other bluetooth devices, holding down the call/play/pause button brings up the phone's voice command. On these headphones, it's a quick double tap. That took some time to get used to, but I'm happy with it. The headphones have the ability to fold up and slide into a carrying case provided by Kinivo. I keep mine at my desk all the time, but if I was moving around a lot, I might like that feature. It seems dangerous to toss a pair of rigid headphones into a backpack, and so it's nice to be able to fold them down and tuck them away where they won't get caught on anything. My only real complaint so far: Given the long battery life of these headphones, I would be happier if they made the timeout before sleeping a little longer. Are there better headphones? I'm sure. But for the $20--$30 range, I think these are a very good pair.

Pretty darned good headset
When a product has this many reviews, adding one more to the list seems kind of redundant. But the product is good enough that I think it should be commented on. And, you know what's interesting, I NEVER see these headsets in shops and stores, and the 'unknown-ness' of the brand would make me assume they were a junk brand if I did see them in a shop. It is only because of the high reviews here on Amazon that I would have considered buying them at all. Thanks Amazon, Thanks Kinivo! The sound of these headphones is pretty good for something that costs less than $30 US. Audiophiles will not likely want them for serious listening, but for casual listening, they work fine for me. The fit is comfortable and secure. By way of reference, my head is not that large. I like them because they are not ear buds, which I find uncomfortable after about 15 minutes of wear. The earphones rest on outside of your ear and have what appear to be leather (or high quality plastic fake leather, I can't tell) cushions that only partially insulate outside sounds from you. This, I like, since I hate the feeling of complete isolation that some headphones promote. The slightly loose seating of the ear cushions offer a benefit in that my ears do not feel 'sweaty' after about an hour of wear. In spite of the 'loose' seat of the ear cushions, they stay centered on the ear canal for me. The 'back of the neck' style means the earphones hang from the piece that wraps around your head, so they don't move much from your body movement. I have wire rim eyeglasses and the earpieces of the eyeglass frames do not interfere with the fit of the headphones. I think this is a comfortable headset to wear, but a person with a big head might want look elsewhere in that there are no extensions to the headset frame to accommodate larger heads In my opinion, construction quality is better than some of the reviews here might indicate. They seem reasonably well constructed to me. The only potential point of failure would seem to be the locking hinges where the headset folds up to fit in the smallish carrying bag. The hinges lock in place via friction, and I suspect someone who folds and unfolds these a lot might run the risk of wearing out that little plastic tab that prevents the headphones from collapsing when you don't want them to fold. The hinge itself is also plastic, but seems reasonably sturdy. I like that it folds and fits into the smallish carrying bag, though I doubt I will use that feature much. The headset also comes with a USB charging cable that you can plug into any USB charging port on your computer or (I assume - haven't tried) one of those wall chargers that accept USB cables. The charging input socket on the headset is the mini USB port (not the newer, smaller Micro). That seems standard on headsets, I don't know why. It connected with my Droid Bionic Phone quite readily. I made a phone call to my son to test it out. The audio at both ends seem pretty good. The microphone is implanted in the right earphone and in spite of the distance from the user's mouth. volume and quality of the microphone seem adequate. It also sounds pretty good when playing music on my phone via Pandora. I look forward to using this headset at the gym. I also connected to my HP Omni 720 All-in-one PC with built in bluetooth (Win7) with no problems. Again, the sound is acceptable for casual listening to music. I also tried to watch Battlestar Galactica on Netflix on the PC, and here, I felt I encountered the first negative issue. The sound of voices do not synch perfectly with the movement of people's lips. It isn't so bad that it is a major problem, the synchronicity is ALMOST right, but the problem is there. I also have a Creative D80 bluetooth speaker system and that doesn't have as bad a lip synch issue as the headset does (though it isn't perfect either), so there probably is some processing speed issue in these headsets that isn't common to ALL bluetooth devices. I don't think the problem is serious enough for me to downgrade the headsets but does prevent a 4 star device from being a 5 star device in my mind. I haven't formally tested the distance at which the phones will work, but the distance from the PC to the bathroom is about 25 feet, and I could hear the sound just fine in the bathroom! All in all, I consider this headset device to be about perfect for my intended purpose of listening to music while exercising at the gym. I consider them to be OK or adequate for my secondary goal of watching video without disturbing others. I don't find them inadequate in any way. I feel I've gotten my money's worth.

Comparison to Samsung SBH500
Several years ago I bought the SBH500 Samsung stereo Bluetooth headset ( Samsung SBH500 Stereo Bluetooth Wireless Headset ) which was the exact same class of product as this Kinivo BTH220 (behind the head, over the ear). My son recently broke one of the ear speakers off of main plastic bracket, making it unusable. Since I had such a good experience with the SBH-500, I tried to find an exact replacement online, but they were discontinued so the only models available were overpriced. This led me to search for something similar, which is how I found the Kinivo BTH220. The following review is basically a comparison between the 2 products: Pros for Kinivo BTH220 compared to the Samsung SBH500: - Less expensive - Better bass - Folding of the harness, and rotation freedom of the ear pieces is a huge plus for storing, transporting, and makes them less likely to break. - The main plastic behind the head bracket is more durable, less likely to break. - More comfortable on my ears than the Samsung. I think they are slightly looser, but not too loose that it reduces the volume my ears hear. I can wear them for hours without wanting to give my ears a break. - The Samsung had a proprietary recharger, but the Kinivo uses a standard mini-USB cable. This makes it cheaper to replace if it is lost, and one less thing to pack on trips (since I would already have this cable with me for other devices I have). Cons for Kinivo BTH220 compared to the Samsung SBH500: - Overall, the ear controls on the Samsung device were better. - The volume and track controls rattle a little when moving your head (minor) - The Samsung had an on/off switch, but this one does not. The Kinivo expects you to hold the main button down for 5 seconds to turn off, which is not as fast/easy as turning off a switch. - The volume control is on the face of the speaker, instead of on the top rim (as Samsung has it). - The event sounds (like when a call comes in, or the battery is low) is more harsh than the Samsung. About the same: - The reliability and sound quality is about the same for both products, with the exception that the Kinivo has better bass response. - I have used a Blackberry phone for both products, and the Bluetooth connection is flawless for both. Never had any drop in sound quality or miss a beat, and this is even when playing music for hours on end. In summary, I give 5 stars for this product. As much as I enjoyed the Samsung headset, I think I prefer this product better. The cons for this product are relatively trivial to me, and the pros more than outweigh these cons.

here we go again ..headphones and ear bones!
i guess at this point (if anyone is acyaully following my reviews over the years) that i have evolved into some kind of an "audiophile!" Not the pomops kind! to the contrary the more of a humble kind! i honestly don't like "wireless" anything! if anything my previous purchases of : Beats Studio Over-Ear Headphone (Black) Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B Active Noise-Cancelling Closed-Back Headphones Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B Active Noise-Cancelling Closed-Back Headphones Sennheiser PMX 60 Lightweight Portable Headphones with Neckband (best ones for GYM so far BTW) Bose IE2 Audio Headphones Sony MDR-AS35W Sports Headphones Lightweight with Powerful Bass Sony MDR-Q55SL Clip-on Headphones (Silver) Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard-MAC (RZ03-00381300-R3M1) and the older Sennheiser HD 558 Headphones and Vinyl records os proof! However more recently the need for a decent wireless blutooh was braigh in by the sad fact of my office move and cubicles "re-arrrangemtn" the desk became smaller and the wires on my desk just became too much! since i am wearing something soothing sound all the time i needed to really be freed from this constant wire chasing sound situation! I mainly came across KINVO things purely by reading reviews and people! The last video review with the 2 dudes convinced me it was a good choice! (trust me i am very testy with sound and headphones!) But the purpose was clear this time! The Likes so far : (obviously i will update this in a few months of use) - NO WORES! Wohoooo! - decent battery life - light on the ears - headphone cups are comfy (for big ears like me!) - simple old SCHOOL USB pin for re-charging - works across iPad, iPhone 4 and Mac (on Mac Bluetooth setup u need to hold on the on/off button for about 9 seconds for the Mac to see it) - sound quality: its not WOW! But better than anything else wireless out there (on the Mac sound PANE you will see both the BTH220 and BTH220 Stereo! ) The not too exciting bits: - can't really use in the GYM (i feel these things will break easily! i have been using the senihiser wired --for 2 years and they are now actually breaking up!) - battery life: i am a skeptic of Bluetooth generally but really can't say if this thing will last a full workday without charge!) - the highs and lows on certain sounds is just too "gritty" no fullness of crackle -- (thats audiophile - i give a crap parts --- lool) Overall: if your looking to rid yourself of WIRES and not move constantly, then these so (most likely office desk use ) then get this! but of course i will update this in a few weeks! happy listening! **UPDATE ON DEC 11 2012*** Well i had to take my calls and music and audiobooks during working hours to the gym downstairs! i had no choice but to put these on ... here are the results: - no wires is amazingly amazingly liberating! - lets me focus more on the workout - the battery has been so far amazing and i have not charged it since the first time (which was 4 days ago) - the sound quality is a bit flimsy from the iPhone - the ear cups (leather) really cant deal with sweat for sure! (they can always provide replacements for just working out i suppose that it for now ....more updates as i use and abuse these! **small irrelevant update** folks usually like everyone else, these devices all come with USB Cables - which inevitably get used and reused for other puroises like USB drives, charging devices, External CD drives... i dont know with the USB cables that came with this is meant for one thing and one thing only: CHARGING THE HEADSET. Dont expect to do any data tranmsfer over this cable. I have tried with both an old Logitech Harmony Touch Universal Remote with Color Touchscreen - Black (915-000198) and a Samsung SE-208AB/TSBS External DVD-Writer - Black in both cases the USB cable is a "dud" but like i said its strange that a USB cable would be a cheap "no brainer anymore" but the headphones still alive and kicking after 24 hours since last charge!

Excellent value - good sound & long battery life
I've been using these for a few days now and I'm pretty impressed. I use them mainly for listening to audio books & podcasts and some music while working out in the barn or cleaning house, that sort of thing. My normal usage pattern requires comfort when wearing for a couple of hours at a time in some serious heat & humidity outdoors. These Kinivo bluetooth headphones have just enough padding to be comfortable, but not enough to make it hard to hear oustide noises. The distance is pretty decent too - I know for a fact they are recieving & playing a clear signal at least 100 feet from my cell phone out at the barn. Now, that is in a relatively unobstructed line in any direction - just one or two half walls & gates. At home, they work throughout the entire house and only start to break up or lose the signal when I go outside to the yard and leave the phone inside. To my thinking, that's pretty darn good overall reception! I have been VERY impressed with the battery life. Yesterday I was doing a hard clean in the barn and listened to 4 hours of an audio book non stop while I worked. Then got home and used them for another 2 hours straight while cleaning house and the battery was STILL strong. When I do charge these, I use the USB to wall plug adapter thing that came with my Kindle and it works just fine - you can also charge them via the USB on your laptop. I have only used these headphones with my Samsung Galaxy Note cell phone so I can't speak about how well they work with a laptop or other brands of phones. I have taken a couple of calls with the headphones and the sound is clear on both ends, so the microphone works fine. Overall....an excellent purchase!

The decision is in...
For $30 bluetooth headphones (cans), I understand that I'm paying for convenience - not measurably outstanding sound quality. Most folks will be pleased with the highs and lows, though some will doubtlessly want more of both. The internal amplifier is sufficient for all but material with the lowest signal strength, so unless one is intent on damaging one's ears, no problems there. The circumference of my head is a standard deviation or so below median. As such, the cans fit me wonderfully, though I'd urge those with larger noggins to consider trying them, if possible, at a store prior to buying. They are not in ear, or around ("enveloping") ear: they are over ear. As such, they allow a bit more air flow, and a bit more intrusion of external sounds. Keep that in mind. Also, the material on the surrounds - the soft portions in contact with your ears - is very thin and will likely not react too well to sweat over an extended period of time. Pairing the unit with several devices was efficient. The problems I've had with these units thus far, and the reason that - after a week's use - I can only give them three stars - are twofold: charging and shoddy workmanship. My instruction set (printed on heavy paper and meticulously folded) affirms that charging status will be indicated by a red LED (when discharged or charging) which will turn to blue once charged. However, even after moderately heavy use, the red indicator will only illuminate for between 1 - 3 minutes once connected to a charger (either directly into a USB port or into a polarity & voltage matched converter into the wall) before winking out. I don't know if it's charging completely or not, but there's no warmth, no LED: nothing to indicate that charge is happening/complete. So far, my use hasn't completely killed the battery (the company recommends three full discharge/charge cycles for best battery life), so I cannot be sure to what extent the unit might or might not be charging. Since I have been using the cans, it suggests they are charging - but without any notifications, I'm flying blind... Further, the units could be a little better put together. I'm not looking for hand spun wiring and wood accents: I'm talking about a USB cover that (ghaw!) actually closes and a four-way multi-directional ring (used for adjusting volume and track) on the right ear that doesn't slide and make noise whenever my head tilts. The cover, while not likely to cause rapid deterioration of the internal bits, nevertheless should be functional over the device's lifetime to protect uninsulated areas from detritus. And while the clinking noise of the adjustment ring isn't noticeable while biking or running due to the cans' permeability to external environmental noise, it's quite irritating when using them with home devices. If any of these characteristics change, I will update this post. --- After about two weeks' use my decision is in: the rattling is worse and the charging status remains a mystery. Listening time is quite mixed, as well: sometimes many hours, and occasionally a few. Also, I noticed that short reviews with problems have garnered a response from the company; mine didn't. It seems like many folks enjoy these and have adequate units. I didn't, and thus won't recommend them to any friends seeking a similar product.

Perfect fit. Great calls. Great sounding music. Comfortable.
Pros: -Relatively cheap -Easily paired with phone -Music sounds great (clear with a decent bass) -Calls sound clearer/less background noise picked up than through my phone -Can wear for long periods of time without ears hurting -Don't shift around while wearing AT ALL -Nice range. Got about 50ft away from phone before music/call broke up -Have only charged three times in two weeks -Fold up and are light Cons: -Leak a ton of the music -If laying down, slightly (but not completely) uncomfortable I am a college student whose phone quality is downright awful. I make calls everyday and was tired of people telling me to repeat what I just said because they couldn't understand me. Worse they could hear other people around me better. I also listen to more music than anyone has any business listening to. What I needed then was a headset that had a better microphone than my phone and could give me a satisfying music experience. It also needed to be inexpensive. I have other money worries, so it's nice that I can buy a headset that actually works for a decent price rather than an overrated fashion statement that costs way too much money. So far, this headset delivers! I have only had the headset for two weeks but will update in another month or so. I listen to music as I walk to and from my classes all day, as well as when I sit down to study or do assignments. As any serious college student knows, that's practically all of the time. I now keep my phone in my backpack as I walk as there is no need to have it out to skip through songs. With a press of the buttons I can increase/decrease volume, skip a track or repeat a song I just heard. Pressing the call button while listening to music will pause it. As soon as I leave for class in the morning I turn the volume up entirely on my phone, and then can increase the volume further from the headset for louder music. I pause the music when I get to class and let the headset hang around my neck during class. The blue light that flashes on the right headphone does not bother me or anyone else I know of. Be aware, even if the phone is on silent and your headset is on, it will make a relatively low beeping jingle upon an incoming call. It's not loud enough to disturb the entire class but you will get looks from the people sitting immediately around you. Whether I'm studying or just taking a break, listening to music on this headset is fun! I put my phone somewhere (like on charge on the other side of my room), and don't have to worry about going out of range. I put my phone at one end of a hallway and walked away from it listening to my music as loud as it would go. It didn't break up until I was around 50ft away. For me, the listening experience could be improved if so much of the sound didn't leak out. I listen to music very loud, so when I first tried out the headset, I turned it up to my preferred volume. I then took them off and was surprised by how much everyone else would be able to hear. For me, it's not really a problem since I use them in my room or while walking to class. I could really care less whether passing students hear my music, but for others it may be a problem. The volume CAN be adjusted to where not too much music is leaking, though. It depends on how loud your music needs to be. The music is all clean too, as far as I can tell. I've run them past any genre you can think of. I was surprised by how much bass there actually was. I played a few bass test songs and was surprised by how well they did. They get really loud paired with my phone, too. They don't sound professional or anything, but they definitely sound good for what I paid for them. I wear this headset all the time. The cushions are definitely nice to my ears. Obviously, after two hours or so you can feel you've been wearing it where the headset wraps around the ear, though. I usually just adjust it, or take them off for five minutes, and put them right back on. Also, while laying down they are slightly uncomfortable but some adjusting takes care of that for me, as well. They also do not shift around! If you are like me, you kill ear buds with cords within a month. They get caught on notebooks in my pack, are pulled out while walking, etc. I like that this headset has no cords, so that should definitely help extend the life. I was worried that they would fall off or shake while I was walking around or doing things. When I first got them, I put them on and shook my head to see if they would fly off. I jumped around, bent over quickly to see how much they shifted. Nothing. These don't go anywhere. The buttons did make a slight rattle but it was hardly noticeable at all. I haven't tried running in them yet, but will have to. I do not have to worry about them coming off while walking around or doing any of my other day-to-day activities. I also like that they fold up and I can store them in the corner of the drawer. This decreases the chance of them getting tangled with other things. My phone calls have never been better. I do not think it is all just that my phone had an awful mic, either. Being in college, there are lots of social places I go to that can get noisy quickly while I'm taking a call. I am easily heard over any background noise the headset picks up. To me, they really only look like a headset for listening to music, so you get a weird look here and there before they realize you're making a call. I have gotten a compliment or two, as well. Before I purchased them, I was worried how they would look but they're really no larger than any other headset I have. If you have any qualms about the size of the headset I have posted some size comparison photos. I also haven't really charged them, unlike my phone which I HAVE to charge every day. I did the initial charge when I first bought them. I've charged them two more times since just to charge them. The red light went off after a half hour both times, meaning it didn't really need charged yet. Since my phones battery seems to drain all on its own, I was slightly worried about how much battery the Bluetooth would consume. It hasn't really made much of a difference. Listening to music drains the battery, it doesn't seem to matter whether I use this headset or another that isn't Bluetooth. I have never owned a Bluetooth headset. In fact, I've never had a use for Bluetooth until I bought this headset. The instructions were easy to follow and I paired my phone with no problems. I have a Samsung Android Smartphone. If my laptop was Bluetooth compatible I would use this headset even more. Overall, I love these headphones! I often forget I'm wearing them and they give me good-sounding calls and music--all for a good price! If these are as durable as I'm hoping, they will definitely be worth it. Some have mentioned the blinking blue light is annoying. It does not bother me, or my friends, in the least. Some have also mentioned something about the charging cable being too short. It is a standard cable and many of my other charging cables fit it. I took one from a camera I own since it's longer.

Fonctrionne bien

amazinf for the price!
I have been using this headset for about 3-4 weeks. Minus: I have been told that, unless I speak really loud, the microphone is not very clear and the person at the other end hears me as if I were really far and hears a lot of interference. But I can hear the other person very well. This is the only disadvantage. I am using this headset while running, and I mean, I have run about 20 hours and the headset never moved/shifted. Sound quality and clarity is amazing; base is great too, and I tend to listen to loud dance/pop/electronic music. Headset resists to sweaty ears, so no slipping in the middle of a run(longest run was 1 hr 10). Battery life is very good. I only charged it once fully. Connectivity is great: I use a BlackBerry and the bluetooth connexion was easy to set up. I was able to connect it as well with my playbook. This headset is monkey-proof! I really consider buying another one, and will definitely look at this company's other products. Amazing for the price, cordless quality freedom!
