Very handy resource for homeschooling
One of the best purchases I made for homeschooling this year. This book covers deciduous forests, coniferous forests, tropical rainforests, deserts, temperate grasslands, tropical savannas, tundra, mountains, and oceans. Each chapter introduces you to where you would find each biome, as well as what distinguises it from another, and what creatures live there, what the threats are to that biome, and some interesting odd facts thrown in for fun. Each chapter ends in a couple of relatively easy to complete activities, such as the "blubber mitt" experiment. Although the description states it is for ages 9 & up, I am using this book with my seven-year old for 2nd grade, and she loves it. We take turns reading paragraphs, and although some words are difficult, there are embedded vocab boxes which are thoughtfully placed so as to explain the tough words without disrupting the flow of the book, so it's still fine for her. We use this in conjunction with the Ecosystem series from Acorn Naturalists, but prefer this book as it goes into a bit more depth. We also read some Magic Treehouse books with it. I highly recommend this book.

Fantastic resource for studying biomes
This book provides an excellent explanation of each biome, followed by fun hands-on projects to enhance learning. After reading about deciduous forests, kids can make a food chain flip book. After reading about mountains, kids can do an experiment to test air quality, and make a homemade glacier! The activities use ordinary household materials, or things you could find at a craft or hardware store. The book is written in a friendly, conversational style and it's full of the kinds of weird facts that kids find so fascinating. Vocabulary words are in bold print and defined on the same page in a little text box so kids can familiarize themselves with new words before reading, or as they read. I purchased the book as a supplement to a homeschool ecology unit, but it's informative and entertaining enough to be an entire unit study on its own. I highly recommend it for homeschoolers or anyone who teaches science to elementary students.

Get your supplies a head of time I using this remotely
Perfect for ages 8 - 12, especially while learning at home. My granddaughter in another State and I have our own copies. She selects the project and we do them together over Face Time. It’s written clearly and much valuable information.

Great book, great info and fantastic activities!
This book is great! I’ve been able to do great activities related to each biome and I love the amount of info and the simplicity of the activities. The only think I don’t like is that there aren’t more books by this author. The way the info is layes out is easy yet engaging. I learned as I was teaching!

Love it!
I love this book! Perfect for my sixth graders. The information is great and harder words are defined. Cute and simple activities, even though some we just can't do like building a garden but if you have the resources it's great!

Clear and informative resource for any child to learn about biomes!
An excellent resource to have in your child's home library whether you are homeschooling or your child attends public/private school. If you are homeschooling your child, as we are doing with ours, it is a very easily prepared lesson plan to use as a workbook/textbook on the topic. If your child is attending public/private school, it is a very good hands-on book to go along as a complement to any other material or lesson plan. It is easy to read, easy to understand, and will have the child quickly caught up into the learning and understanding of biomes.

Don't get the Kindle version
The book is great, the ereader version is not. The pages are all messed up and result in it being very difficult to use.
