Fr. Gallagher has written a must-read for anyone new to Liturgy of the Hours or considering it as the foundation of their prayer life. The book is imminently readable and provides encouragement to pray the hours, a detailed breakdown of the parts of the prayer, its history, and above all how it unites us to each other as the Church and to Christ. I received the book today and am halfway through already. It has put a new perspective on the hours for me. I can’t recommend this book highly enough!

An informative book and a good starting point to better understand the Liturgy of the Hours. I enjoyed the background on how praying the LOTH came to be, also the more practical aspects of application. Fr. Gallagher provided more than enough information to get me started and also added resources for deeper study. I walked away with a far better understanding and deeper appreciation of the LOTH.

Liked it fine

Fr. Gallagher is very detailed oriented. This is not a deep study on the Liturgy of the Hours however he does reference other material. This said, it is insightful and very helpful if you are just starting to pray the hours. I find it excellent.
