My Mexico / México Mío (Spanish Edition)

I'm trying to teach my niece to learn to read in Spanish. She speaks it, but because she's been raised and educated in English, she hasn't had the opportunity to learn to read and write in Spanish. This book is a GREAT tool because the poems are both in English and Spanish, and they're also simple. It's also beautifully illustrated.I love the cultural aspect because it is important for Latino children to read books to which they can relate.

Had to buy it. Didn't realize my uncle was the artist. Now that I my nieces and nephews are having nieces and nephews, we spend quality time reading the book and enjoying the pictures

I am completely satisfied with this book. It is beautiful and for reading aloud for many children. I am happy with my selection.

I love this book. The colors are rich. The poetry is wonderful. The fact that it is written in both English and Spanish. How cool is that?

Soy profesora de español, creando una unidad sobre la literatura infantil en cuanto a la naturaleza, los animales y las plantas, y esta colección te lleva a Mexico dónde puedes ver, sentir, oler y pasear por todas las experiencias del poeta. It's beautiful, interesting, simple, and it makes me think about its themes, such as Why do they sell iguanas in Taxco? I am a Spanish teacher, creating a unit on children's literature with themes of nature, animals and plants, and this collection takes you to Mexico where you can see, feel, smell and take a stroll through the experiences of the poet. This unit is part of a Master's Degree program at the University of Southern Mississippi. I can't wait to implement it!
