The worldโs #1 bestselling author doles out the laughs as middle-schooler Jamie Grimm faces bullies and self-doubt as he chases his dream of becoming the worldโs greatest comedian. Jamie Grimm is a middle schooler on a mission: he wants to become the world's greatest standup comedianโeven if he doesn't have a lot to laugh about these days. He's new in town and stuck living with his aunt, uncle, and their evil son Stevie, a bully who doesn't let Jamie's wheelchair stop him from messing with Jamie as much as possible. But Jamie doesn't let his situation get him down. When his Uncle Frankie mentions a contest called The Planet's Funniest Kid Comic, Jamie knows he has to enter. But are the judges only rewarding him out of pity because of his wheelchair, like Stevie suggests? Will Jamie ever share the secret of his troubled past instead of hiding behind his comedy act? Prepare to laugh and cheer along with Jamie in this highly-illustrated, heartfelt middle school story. Perfect if you're looking for: โ An uplifting, empowering book to get kids more interested in reading โ A kid-favorite gift for birthdays or holidays โ A fresh illustrated read for fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and graphic novels Review: One of the best books EVER!!! (for a lot of reasons!) - Jamie Grimm LOVES comedians! In his book, he has Billy Crystal, The Marx Brothers, Will Ferrell, Rodney Dangerfield, Chris Rock, Joan Rivers, etc. (I think I found 33 of them in the book, but I could be wrong.) He lives in Long Beach, NY, near the Boardwalk. (Iโm jealous โ I used to live in LawngIsland.) Jamie likes MATH! (believable or not). The bad news is that is family died, and Jamie uses a wheelchair. Plus heโs nervous and in school he sweats a lot. Jamieโs best friends are Gaynor and Pierce and some of Jamieโs other friends are Gilda Gold, Cool Girl and Mr. Burdkecki (like From Russia with Love!). Jamieโs Uncle Frankie who does the grill and does yo-yo at the same time! He can Hop the Fence, Walk the Dog, Loop the Loop, and go Around the World with one hand while flipping griddle cakes and two eggs over with the other. (For me, how about NEVER!) Once Uncle Frankie tells Jamie that in 1914 the boardwalk was built โ with the help of ELEPHANTS! (I didnโt know that! COOL!!!) Jamie lives with The Smileys who never laugh, and one of them is a BAD GUY. Unfortunately, Jamie canโt climb the stairs. (I like the picture โWelcome to the HOUSE of PAINโ, but sad.) Anyhow, Jamie tries Comedy, and you can guess what happened (i.e. TROPHIES!). Chapters 60, 61, and 62 were CLASSIC! And Page 230, it says the word โbubelahโ. What is it? Even wikipedia couldnโt find it. Review: Everything perfect rolled into one - I chose the rating of the book to be a five. Mostly because it's everything rolled into one. It's hilarious(totally witty), dramatic which is great for people like me, heartbreaking and hearthealing all at the same time.. and everybody needs to cry sometimes~everybody needs to smile sometimes, and romatical!!!! <3 I mean who doesn't love love! The other reason why I chose the book to be a five is because it relates to me. Same age same situation of wanting to fit in and bullies. I mean this book to me seems like it was written for me. I would recommend this book to people who need a good laugh, whose spirit needs to be rised, who are just looking for a good middle school story, and for someone who feels like their afraid and just feels like they don't fit in.

I Laugh, I cry
My son, a fourth grader, and I read this book together each night before bed. We both loved it. He loved the bathroom humor - you know the farts, burps, and butt jokes that are so humorous at that age. And he also loved the serious side of the story. When Jamie tells "Cool Girl" about the horrific event that caused him to end up in a wheelchair, we both cried. When Jamie competes to be the funniest kid comic, we both laughed and cheered. I highly recommend this book. It helps children see the good and bad, the funny and tragic, while giving them a wonderful role model in the main character, Jamie.

the jokes for fine. One or a two I did not get
It was a decent book. No complaints. Well, maybe one. the jokes for fine. One or a two I did not get. Well, since this is a book review let's start. It is about a middle schooler named Jamie grim. He never says anything really about his past, and in a book review it spoiled the ending, but I wanted to see it first hand so I got the book. His step brother is an utter jerk. So if you don't like things like that then maybe you should not get this book. My favorite part is the end though. I am not going to be that one review that spoiled the end, so go to a another review if you want that... Or get the book!๐

Always will be a favorite series of mine!
I read these books in middle school and gosh itโs just so relatable! I actually took some advice from Jamie Grimm and used jokes to deal with bullies throughout my middle school and high school years, it really helped me out a lot. I definitely recommend to give this book series a whirl, I can tell you that you will laugh, you will cry, and youโll also learn a thing or two. Thank you James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein for all your hard work in writing this wonderful story, I definitely loved reading it.

Jamie Grimm-World's Funniest Book Comedian
I've gotta say. This was a pretty darn good book. It was very similar to Middle school: The worst years of my life, with pictures and the "unpopular people" telling the story. But, there is a HUGE difference in the plot. Jamie Grimm is just your average kid...in a wheel chair. He has few friends, (who are really caring for him) and loves to crack jokes. (Hence the name, I Funny.) If you enjoyed Middle School series, this one's for you. If you didn't, well, still read it. You'll come to love Jamie and his funny jokes.

Great book. Got it for 12 year grandson for school summer reading. Sometimes he would read out loud to me or me to him. I would laugh harder then he would. Also had great life lessons in it. Highly recommend.

I Funny Really IS Funny
I Funny is another great book by James Patterson. Jamie Grimm lives on Long Island, with his friends, Gaylor and Pierce. He *spoiler alert* was in a car accident that killed his family, now he's disabled, but he doesn't let that stop him! He has big dreams of being the funniest sit-down comedian in the world, so he auditions for Ronkonkoma Funniest Kid Comic competition, and wins! He makes it through to the next round and wins again, but paying the price of making fun of his friends and family. Read it for more. Before the Kid Comic competition, he met Cool Girl, the girl Gaylor says he's always gawking at. When Cool Girl leaves, she drops her books on Jamie's lap. She always supports him and at the end of the book, they become a couple This is really funny and I really recommend it! Rafi Witts

it was a phenomenal book. I loved the jokes. I would recommend this book to friends. from Isabelle age 7
The jokes were not nearly as funny as my sister says. But the content of the book made me realize how much of an extraordinary book this is. I was touched in many parts of the book, including the inspiring stories of Jamie's past. From Sasha age 9.
