Great beginning of the year read aloud.
My 2nd grade class loved this story and now we connect the antagonist character to many others in subsequent stories.

Second Grade Book Review: It was interesting and funny!
The following book review is written by students in 2M after completing their most recent book clubs: Andy Shane and the very Bossy Dolores Starbuckle is written by J.R. Jacobson. It is about two kids who don’t get along. First, Andy’s grandmother is weird. Then, Dolores is bossy to other kids in his class. Andy doesn’t like Dolores. Read this book to find out if Andy and Dolores can learn how to get along. I would give this book a 9 out of 10 because it is detailed and it is funny. I would recommend this book to 1st and 2nd graders, because it is an interesting chapter book that had words we knew and some hard words too.

good book for beginning readers
This is a good book for readers who are becoming independent readers who are not ready for a true chapter book but want a book that is more "grown-up" looking. Treats a common classroom issue in a positive way.

A simple tale before your child's sleeping hours!
A good book when you have little time with your child before his/her sleeping hours. In this story, the parent could point out to their child how Andy had stood up to Dolores and with that a friendship began.Parents should also take heed on the approach that Granny Webb took. She was tactful in her plot to allow Andy to muster his courage to standup to Dolorus and pulled back when Andy had established his ground.

Great Book Club Book!
The following book review is written by second graders in Ms. Mack’s class:Andy Shane and the Very Bossy Dolores Starbuckle is written by Jennifer Richard Jacobson. It is about a boy named Andy who does not like school because there is a bossy girl named Dolores Starbuckle. Granny tells him he has to go to school. Then, she comes to school to help him solve the problem. Read this book to find out if Andy and Dolores become friends. We give this book a 1.5 out of five stars because there was not a lot of action and the problem wasn't very major.By: Henry, Henry, Will and Peyton
