Excellent product
Excellent product. Well made, easy to work with. No problem cutting holes for the speakers.

Decent Speaker Pods
These pods were exactly what I needed to install speakers on my boat. The plastic is sturdy, textured, and somewhat glossy, also comes with vinyl trim for the bottom edge. These are universal, allowing it to fit a variety of speaker sizes up to about 6.5" round, so you have to cut the opening to fit your specific application. A sharp utility knife works fine to cut the plastic; it does take some patience and work, as the plastic is not super soft. One could use a hole saw or jig saw too, but again, a sharp utility knife will suffice. I'd suggest buying these to surface mount speakers, they are of decent quality and you can use your choice in brand of speakers.

Definitely a useful product
The photos are a bit misleading as it is much larger than the photos lead on to be. I installed 5 1/4 inch Kenwood concert series 2 way car stereo speakers in these pods. I had plenty of room to install the speakers into the pods and plenty of enclosure space within the pods for the speakers, since it will be a sealed enclosure. I added Polly filling, like you find in high end home speakers. I mounted up on my dashboard so as to enhance the forward listening field. They aren't a big bass producer, but I have a single 10" Rockville subwoofer for the lows and I have Kenwood 6x9 concert series mounted in the rear deck that use the trunk space as an enclosure space. Overall it's a decent product for many applications and ought to be the bomb for marine applications. They are black in color, so you may need to either paint them or appolster fabric or vinyl for your particular install. I barely had enough room on my dash , but the forward field listening is a big plus to enhance quality of my car stereo installation. I tried a small Pyle marine amplifier for the forward listening amplification, but it is way too low powered to be useful. I'm running a 4 channel Blaupunkt and a Blaupunkt mono block for the subwoofer. I'm thinking if I bridge the amp to operate the 2 6x9 in the rear deck and buy another 4 channel to operate the 2 dash speakers and the speakers in the front doors. It should rock pretty good. LoL. Have a great day. 73 Earnest K5EWM ๐.

Very Convenient for 6-1/2โ Seakers; Look Nice Too
I was looking for an option to add speakers into a side-by-side UTV other than the intrusively large towers. These pods did the job quite nicely. They have a slight flexibility which allows installation on curved surfaces (as long as you donโt get carried away). I recommend silicone on the mating surfaces for a good seal. The speaker mounting surface is a bit thin. I siliconed plastic speaker mounting brackets on the inside surface. The gave me a more sturdy top lip in which to install screws. I especially like the angle of these pods which allow for mounting in any direction for speaker aiming. Great price and they look nice, too.

Solid units
As mentioned in another review, it was cheaper for me to buy these from the US site rather than from Amazon.ca (go figure) and even so they are abit expensive for just two pieces of molded plastic. But as also mentioned, these are very hard to find. I also used these to upgrade the cheap crappy factory outdoor speakers on my RV and they worked very well. They don't come with holes precut for the speakers, which is probably a good thing as this way you be sure you can custom fit your own speakers without issue. I simply used a dremel with a small cutting wheel to cut the holes. My 6.5 inch Pyle marine speakers do just slightly over hang the enclosure by about 1/8 of inch but it's really not an issue. I used clear silcone to fill that minor gap for extra weather proofing. All things considered, they are the best solution I could find to maintain a surface mount on my RV with larger speakers.

Great Quality Product
You can't go wrong with this product. I was skeptical when reading the reviews but I'm so glad I went with them. They are heavy duty NOT thin junk. They come with rubber edges you can attach easily if you want. My only suggestion would be to include sound foam to install inside to help with the quality of sound. I have not tried them out yet but I know a plastic cone won't sound as good as one with foam to deaden the response inside. These are easy to cut out with a dremel tool. Awesome product!! Thank you!

PHENOMENAL quality!!!!
I kinda feel guilty.... For around $25, I have a killer sounding system!! I mounted them in the rear of my GMC Savana. I had originally installed the speakers recessed in the wood paneling that covers the walls. It sounded "tinny", but it was better than singing to myself. I used these pods and the same speakers and mounted them on top of the paneling, all sealed up with the new included gaskets (free!!) Instead of "tinny", I now have bass!!! I'm admittedly an amateur at sound systems, and I didn't wanna put too much time into silencing the gutteral tones some might say resembles my "singing". I bet you anything I spent less than an hour installing these! Someone who's put something like these in before could likely to it done in 15 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend that you buy a 6" hole saw. They have one (on here somewhere) for $15.99 (w/free shipping) that includes the arbor. I already own one and used it to make 6 inches of the 6.5 inches I needed to stick the speakers in. I used a box cutter to trim the rest of the way. It would've probably been quicker with their older model, which is much thinner than these new ones are. It's some real solid material now! I'm buying another set and I'm going to mount 2 pods more in the center of my van. The speakers I used are 300 watt Pyle 6.5 inch. The pair of them cost me less than 30 bucks at Microcenter, but I'm sure they're even less expensive than that on here. Just buy these pods and enjoy!!!

Itโs sorry
Not what I expected itโs huge way bigger than speakers and itโs just cheap plastic hole for speakers not even precut So big I donโt think they can be used in a car Maybe a boat

Using these to put speaker pods on the kick panels in my side by side. The ones I got sent are built with hard plastic and not flimsy. Also came with a small rubber gasket for each pod. Would be nice to an indent in the centre of the pod to make easier to measure the hole for the speaker.

Wasn't sure when they arrived They seemed very big for the application but once I installed them with a pair of 6 "speakers thing just come together They helped make the speakers sound great

I liked that they were not soft and flimsy as other reviews said they were made of a hard plastic molding! Awesome!
