AS USUAL, THE SHOW DELIVERS!
I have been playing this franchise for about 5 years now on the PS3. This year, when I got a PS4, I was mainly excited to see the difference between the two platforms for this game and others. Before I review, I want to mention that I pre-ordered this game from Amazon to arrive on the day it came out. I came home and the game was not there. I called Amazon and they said the game had been lost in shipment somehow along with another item I ordered. I wasn't happy about it but they offered me a promotional credit for my troubles. I then cancelled the game and bought it at Target. Now the game review:VISUALS, PRESENTATION AND GRAPHICS - 8.5The visuals are spectacular as far as the stadium, players, movements and other details go. The fans are much better than previous years with individual actions that are different from one fan to another. However, there is still some polishing to do for the fans as some do mimic each other and at times can look pixelated. Overall, the visuals however are terrific! There are still some issues however with the color commentary adjusting to the actual game play. In one game, I had a batter feint like he was going to swing at a pitch and instead take the pitch for a strikeout. The announcer promptly proclaimed, "swing and a miss, he struck him out!". Hmmm? No swing was made.GAME PLAY - 8The game play is terrific and the new mode adjusting to your skill level as you play is a welcome add on for players who are unsure where to start. This keeps your first game from being too hard and too easy at the same time. The controls are great as usual but seem a little more touchy when it comes to throwing the ball in from the outfield. It is very easy to cancel a throw on accident and very hard to make a good hard through. The base running is still not user friendly on assist mode in my opinion and I keep making myself go back to auto runners which is no fun but better than missing to advance almost every runner in assist mode or manual. The batting controls, pitching controls, hitter's eye and other features are very well polished after many years of perfecting them and I see now issue with them whatsoever.GAME MODES - 10The RTTS mode is fantastic as usual with very detailed options. The Franchise mode is outstanding once again and I have a great time playing it with and without fantasy draft options. There are many details and actions as usual and the players seem smarter and more reactive to various contract offers and adjustments.ONLINE - 9Online is great, it's as good as it can be, however for this type of game, online isn't my favorite thing to do. I prefer offline Franchise mode.OVERALL - 8.9

Haven't Liked The Show since 08
So I was a huge fan of 08. Still have it, still play it. I got 09 when it came out and was very frustrated with the new base running controls in RTTS. There were times I would start running and then the camera angle would shift and my player would switch directions. I ended up selling the game after a week. I got 10, and liked the franchise mode but could not get myself into RTTS. The base running was better but I was hitting the ball like a 2nd grade girl. My hits would not get past the infield. I understand being a new player you cannot come out as an all star but hitting a ball into the outfield seems like something a ball player should be able to do. Also the fielding controls were busted. I like outfield and after the ball was hit my player would have no idea which way to go till it was almost hitting the ground.I did not play 12 or 13 mostly because I did not want to deal with anymore foolishness. When PS4 came out I decided to give The Show one last chance on the new platform. I really like it. The base running controls make sense and there is no switching camera angle problems. Fielding, in the outfield, is a lot better as I can now see the ball leave the bat and the player actually keeps his eyes on the ball as opposed to only seeing the ground looking for a circle to run to.I really enjoyed the amateur showcase as opposed to 30 days of spring training. I am only 3 games into my double A season but it seems like a great game as far as RTTS is concerned. I have not looked into franchise yet.Update: The game is still holding up. The controls are easy to use as is the base running controls in RttS. Stealing takes a little work but there is actually a training for it in game, after that i had no issues doing it.Fielding the ball in the outfield is a little annoying as it is hard to line things up, however it would not be enough for me to dislike the game.

First show on PS4 Is okay
I have the show 2018, I picked this up because the price was good. I think the load times are long, the batting in Franchise is tough....A lot more challenging than in the show 2018.....You can max out a good players attributes and you still have a tough time for most at bats....I like the commentary better on this version....There are three commentators as in 2018 and the main commentator has largely the same lines, but the other two commentators they have on 2018 and newer versions Deroza and Plesac are just awful, the other two on this version are much better....The main commentator which is on here and also on the new versions has the exact same commentary on 2014 as in 2018, which is generally okay but the other two in 2014 are way better than the replacements in the newer versions....The graphics are pretty dull in 2014 vs 2018 too, I turn off the commentary in 2018 but the commentary in 2014 is done much better (2 of the 3 commentators are different in newer versions, at least in 2018 and on...in 2014 they actually sound like it's actually really happening like on a TV broadcast, the replacement 2 commentators in 2018 just say a bunch of stupid cheesy stand up comedy wisecracks and stuff that takes away from the whole experience....Hopefully they bring back the show 2014 commentary crew, they were so much better.) All the player motions and movements seem identical, as in 2018 so they just copied and pasted everything for 2014 even in 2018 and camera angles etc....The core differences is batting in the 2014 version is much more challenging than in 2018, just hopefully they change the commentary in New versions, because 2014 had really good commentary, all 3 commentators but for some reason they changed 2 of the three and really downgraded from 2014. Also Derek Jeter is in the game but retired after one season in Franchise, was hoping the game would have him play more than one season, even if it was 2 seasons. Haven't played RTTS, I prefer franchise play, and difficulty of batting seems like RTTS would be brutally difficult if not impossible....Overall...I think it's a 7 out of 10 overall.

Je me fie aux internautes
Bonjour à toutes et tous. Je viens de recevoir mon jeu ps4 mais pour l'instant je ne l'ai pas utilisé. Il y a de superbes graphismes d'après certains. Wait and see. Le baseball c'est pas made in France mais il faut s'ouvrir à d'autres styles. Bien à vous. Les amis amusez vous bien.

What a game!
This game has everything a fan wants, it's a shame that it's not available for other platforms because every baseball fan deserves a game this good. The graphics are amazing and realistic, the AI is 99% sharp unlike the MLB2K games where you couldn't rely on your team to run in straight lines or not disappear into walls!I love the commentary even though it can get slightly repetitive but it reacts correctly to each situation.I'll be honest, i mostly play the Road To The Show mode and it's fantastic, especially if you choose pitcher as your position, the intensity and atmosphere the game creates if you are on the way to a no-hitter is engrossing. And one little thing that I really loved was that when I entered my own name for my character, the commentators called it out, something that you dont see in a lot of games!I could write a lot more but i'll simply say this, if you are looking for a great baseball game, even though this is the only one on the market really, then you cant go wrong here, it's hits the mark 100%
