The plunger doesn't push far enough forward to actually get the pill out of the tube, is there anyway to fix that?

It’s a manufacturer problem but after ordering a replacement I tried to correct it. There’s a retaining washer that needs to be forced forward about 1/4 inch. I put the device in a vice and using a screwdriver and small hammer, tapped on the washer moving it forward. Hope this helps

Yes, but the little part that holds the spring in place rust out rather quickly.
