ESV Pew and Worship Bible, Large Print (Black)

I purchased this English Standard Version bible because I read it is one of the most accurate word for word translations of the Bible. The same is said for the NASB translation, so now I use these two bibles for my personal bible studies. I really like the English Standard Version translation. It is very clear and easy to comprehend. It is also quite different from the NASB in places, not in context so much as in specific word choice, which I find very helpful while studying the Bible. The other thing I really like about this specific bible is that it is a version made for the pew’s in church, meaning it is a sturdy hardback, with larger print. It is easier on the eyes, particularly in the early morning or evening. And, I like this translation so much I find myself using it more than the NASB.

I like the fact that this Bible is large print. I take it to church as it is easy to see and easy to use!!

I am a person with diminished vision, having had nine surgical interventions in my eyes. For that reason I have difficulty reading the standard print, (10 Point print), of my old Bible. In fact, I have to use a magnifying glass to do so. So I decided to order a Giant Print ESV Bible, with 15 Pt. print size, which Amazon offered on a Pre-Order basis. Two days later they advised me by email that the Bible ordered was no longer available. That left me in some desperation, as I needed an urgent solution to my problem. The only alternative I could find is this Large Print ESV Bible. I was hesitant to order it because it has a 12.75 Pt. print size, which in reality is only 50% greater than that of my old Bible. But I finally decided to take a chance with regard to it's adequacy for me and ordered it. I also specified expedited shipping because I live in Colombia, South America. The Amazon estimate of earliest delivery time was 10 Days. I was delighted when it arrived, delivered to my front door in 11 Days! Also the Customs Authority here did NOT demand payment of Duty and Value Added Tax, which was an extra bonus. The Bible, it's Box and the packaging were all in perfect condition. Opening the Bible I found, with much joy and satisfaction, that I could read the texts easily and comfortably with my normal reading glasses. So, my anxieties regarding the print size were exaggerated. The Bible itself is of high quality and finely crafted. The paper of the pages is thin, very white and of traditional bible quality. When reading the texts, I am not conscious of any bleed-through of the print. The type face is excellent, uniform, fine and of great precision. The page layout is spacious and uncluttered, which makes it a pleasure to read. The binding is sewn and the Bible lies flat when opened. The Leather cover is of excellent quality, flexible and good to the touch. I can recommend this Bible to anyone, but particularly to those who may hesitate to buy it because of the print size. I am a first time buyer and congratulate and thank Amazon for the efficiency and quality of their service.

I won't bother to testify to why I love the ESV version but if it is not the ESV it is the King James or the Holman (HCSB) Bible versions I choose to use. I am a Hebrew and Greek student and find these translations as good as it gets. This Bible is well made and very sturdy. The large print isn't as large as other "large print" Bibles I have but it is large enough that I can read it without my magnifier. I write all over the pages in ink and highlight my Bibles with with Bic Bright Liners and they grow with my as my foundation grows so I have gone through 4 of these exact Bibles so far - it's my all time favorite. They highlight well with little bleed through if at all. The binding is strong and holds up to a rigorous daily life of falls and grabbing the book by the cover as it slips off my lap, no coffee cup rings even after many cups being set on the cover when desk space is low, bending the pages wide open to write inside the binding margines and I use stick on Bible tabs and the pages hold up well to flipping through the tabs without tearing. For the price of this book you are getting an awesome deal and if you don't need large print as most people don't... then the normal print is just unbelieveable for the price. There are enough blank pages at the front and the back for writing yourself inspirational notes or praises too. The end of the book has responsive readings for fellowship on demand. NO maps or concordance but there is one page of weights and mearsures that has been helpful many times during studies. When I need a new one, I always buy a few more and take them along to give away to any and all who ask me about Jesus. If you want a case then Bibles by the Case is the best price for bulk but individually Amazon is best.

Great value for a lightweight Bible with decent size print font, easier to carry around than many options. Front cover is nice.

To date, I have purchased a few bibles prior to this one and ended up returning them because the descriptions were inaccurate. This one was the ONE...I love it. It's just the right size and the print isn't huge but it's decent enough to read it comfortably. The pages could've been a little thicker too. The 4 stars was because the bible came without a cover or anything on it; it was just in an envelope which I thought was tacky. And there was Amazon sticker on the front of it which was hard to remove. Even now there's still a sticky film on it that I can't get off. Why would you put an Amazon sticker on a bible?

Good quality, print is large and clear.

Delivered fast and packed nicely. Love the colour. The font size is perfect for reading. There is a bit weight on it but still good if you plan to use it outside. God bless you!

This is my first ESV Bible and it’s exactly what I am looking for. A good size and great hand feel. Easy to read large font. The gold foil lettering on the front cover and spine looks classy and traditional. Because I like to highlight text, I prefer to NOT have red lettering for Jesus’ dialogue, so I am glad the text is solely black. I love the sturdy hard cover and I’m so happy with this Bible!

This large print pew esv bible is amazing. It's look is pretty classy and well finished. I take a star out just because of the paper quality which is not upto the mark. Other than that this bible is lit... go for it guys!!

Beautiful Bible, perfect gift. The text is very easy to read and it is accessible to anyone. The presentation is beautiful and encourages one to read more. Great way to gift Gods word, whether to a friend/family, a stranger, of yourself. 10/10
