Lifesaver Replacement Water Filter Cartridges

I hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail, my friends had other name brand water filters and they all got horribly sick. I drank from the exact same water sources but never got a hint of sickness. Chemicals like chlorine dioxide are great at killing viruses, but according to the CDC they are practically useless in temperatures under 45 degrees. This water filter is pretty heavy, bulky, and poorly designed :(, compared to others on the market but the weight is worth it. Read the instructions with these!!! I found out the hard way that if you don't keep water in the Lifesaver bottle then the filter dries out and is dead. Also, if you just leave water in it black mold will spring up, so if you don't plan on using it for a while, either trash the filter and buy a new one, or change the water at least once every other week. Also the pump is pretty slow compared to something like the katadyn pro, but do your own research on the size of viruses and the size of the pores. This is one of the only filters that you don't have to boil the water or use chemicals after you filter it. I would recommend doing your own research and studying the CDC research papers if you don't believe me.... Happy Trails (Trail Name: Armadillo)

It didn't work. I'm not sure why, the last one I had did. It may have involved the pump. Idk.

An absolute lifesaver for anyone going to Afghanistan and having to drink the "bottled" water!!!!!!!!

I bought this for my family due to the fact we live in a hurricane prone region. The ability to have safe drinking water is a huge plus for our peace of mind. In this area, with the heat, if you don't have safe water to drink, you simply won't last long. It is easy to use and my kids can operate it easily.
