A beautifully written journey through grief
This is a beautifully written story of a heart filled with love traveling the many staggering stages of grief regarding the loss of a deeply loved one. The poems arouse so many emotions that we sometimes try to avoid. The tears they bring are foreshadowed by the title, Speaking in Tears. The tears speak what we sometimes cannot and help the reader to confront the inevitable. Taking your heart on a journey to a path of hope, despite the ever present internal mourning. The pain the author experienced and experiences through all the phases of grief was no doubt difficult to relive when composing this book. My deepest appreciation for doing so. What a wonderful tribute to the author’s daughter and what a wonderful gift to those who also must learn to live with the loss of a child.

I just love it
I had just lost both my parents within months of each other and then my home and it all took the hardest toll on me. I was utterly heartbroken like never before. I saw this book and the title alone got me to buy it. I opened it and started reading. In one day I read it and between tons of tears, so many smiles and then a calm after, I couldn’t recommend this book any higher. I utterly love every word in here. ❤️❤️

Grieving in poetry
This is a beautifully written book of poetry. Has black and white photos throughout. The book should be read from page 1 to the last, no skipping. It shows the progress of grieving.I purchased the book because I have a rare terminal cancer. I want to leave this behind for my husband, who is a poet, to comfort him. Certain poems really touched me. On those I wrote a special message for him.

Mediocre
This book was mediocre at best. While I empathize with anyone who has ever lost a child, and I realize that that writing can be very therapeutic, I also understand that if you are going to publish a book, it should be flawless. When I see obvious typos, it makes my skin crawl and there are multiple examples of this in this book. Some of the passages looked and sounded like the author spent a lot of time trying to find words that rhymed with each other, only for the sake of rhyming and not for the sake of meaningful content. Having said all this, I do love the black and white photos and I especially love the title of the book. The font, especially of the titles was extremely difficult to read. For this writer, simple is always the best choice. I wanted to love the book; it just didn't make the cut.

Thank you for sharing your sorrow and your joy. I know there will be healing from your ...
“Grace”, describes this author and the eloquent way she shares her grief. Her words have a healing touch no matter what type of grief you are experiencing. Unless you have lost a child, I don’t believe you can understand that kind of pain. Grace helped us understand the depth of grief but also showed us how to learn how to embrace it. Thank you for sharing your sorrow and your joy. I know there will be healing from your willingness to let others in. TM

problematic
although i, as someone who has known tragedy and loss myself, fully support the need for self expression, i feel that this book ought to come with a warning because some of the work is very dark and may trigger harmful emotions. i bought mine for a friend who has suffered loss very recently but at one look inside i knew that it would do more harm than good. it is invaluable though but it really does need some form of content warning.

Awful Book
I was hoping for some hard hitting poetry that gets to the heart of the emotions that a significant bereavement can evoke in all their intensity. This is the poorly constructed ramblings of a bereaved mother with no poignancy at all. The same mumbled confusion runs throughout. Also, I have to confess that the ‘story’ of the death through these vague mumbling, peaked my curiosity in a way that became frustrating. Either the circumstances of the death should have been wholly excluded or wholly included. In hindsight, I feel it is a desperate attempt to realise personal growth after the bereavement but I don’t think an income should be made from so little skill.

Moving & magical
Grief, longing & sadness ooze through every line of these poems but there’s so much love too. It’s a wonderful collection.
