Works well, gives you accurate battery power, does require LR44 battery
This battery tester a good thing to have if you are wanting to know if your batteries are actually dead or not. I really hate throwing out batteries that are still good. I no longer have to throw out both batteries and can actually tell which batteries are dead in the remote now. This actually has a digital reader which is nice to tell you a better estimate the normal battery readers. The only down side is that it requires an LR44 (usually used on toys) to power this. It does not work without the battery unfortunately. The battery is included and already preinstalled. I could not test to see how much power is in the battery that arrived as I did not have a spare LR44 battery to test it on. It is easy to replace the battery as needed. Just slide the cover out, replace, and put the cover back on. This tests the battery pretty accurately. It is a bit tricky to put the battery in at an angle. I wish it was easier to connect the battery but it does take a little bit of force to push the battery in. It has three levels which is Good (Green), Weak (Yellow), Poor (Red) Each one with different voltage levels. It does have a 9 V battery indicator at the bottom. It can test coin batteries as well but you have to put it at an angle for the thin batteries as you can not adjust the battery holder accordingly but it does read it. The screen is very prone to scratches unfortunately. It is just a simple plastic cover. Just remember that positive is always on the top especially for the coin batteries or it will not get a reading. Overall this is a very accurate and good way to save batteries. You can find out which battery is actually dead and which one you need to recycle/throw out. It is accurate and gives you a good reading. It could be easier on putting the batteries into the reader. It does read a good amount of different batteries which is good that are most commonly use. I do wish the coin battery testing was adjustable as it is a bit awkward to hold it at an angle.

Best battery testing tool I've used (and I'm an electrical engineer)
My kids used to have old nintendo Wii remote battery scattered al over the place. never knowing which ones were good and which were not. I would have to test them all with my multimeter (a huge waste of my time). We had several other VU-style (needle) testers.. none of which gave an accurate measure of actual, linear battery capacity. This unit had , by far, the best usable reading scale of all the testers weve tested.

Great Little Battery Tester
I have been using an old Radio Shack battery tester for many years and found it very awkward to use. You have to touch your battery to its 2 test leads in order to get a reading on an old analog meter! With this compact all-in-one battery tester, it is a breeze to test just about any batter you can think of! No juggling with slippery test leads, for all you have to do is place the battery into an appropriate slot and test away. Oh, the digital meter is way more sufficient and accurate. If you want a battery testing tool that is sturdy and easy to use, this one will fit your needs.

Dead or Alive?
Nice little battery checker that checks most of the common batteries used in devices around the home. No more pulling weak or dead batteries out of the junk draw and wondering why the device is not working. Do wonder how one knows when the batteries in the checker itself are dead?

Works OK but it's hard to hold the tester and battery at the same time.
The tester works well enough but this particular tester is a bit difficult to use because of my arthritis. It would be nice to have a stationary tester like a can crusher when you drop the battery in and pull down the handle it makes contact with the poles.

Works to Sort Good Batteries from Bad
It works and it is inexpensive. It is no substitute for a professional unit, but it helps sort the good batteries from the bad ones. Made of coated paperboard with notches to fit batteries. Specs for some sizes are a little off, requiring some manipulation.

Simple battery tester that works well
The battery tester works very well for 9V, AAA and AA batteries (I don't use any other batteries). It's very simple to use and has helped me find which of my rechargeable AAA and AA batteries need to be disposed. Also helped me check all these random 9V batteries I had where I wasn't sure if they were good. It's a simple item, but very useful.
