I loved the series but did not know I couldn’t play it on blue ray or computer. Started to return it but I really love the series so looked for a multi region found one got it and now I am happy.

I don’t really know why, but several series that I have previously watched on tv are only available on non-US/Canada disk sets. I had to purchase a new player to watch this series which was inconvenient. I do really like this series; anything that will get my daughter to study history is a good thing.

This series is very well done. Graphically authentic.

This isn’t all true as I started reading history but a very entertains and lavish production. I really enjoyed. The settings and costumes were superior as were the the actors.

Although it wasn’t unlocked for the US they were kind enough to return it to me and help me find the series work for my location.

Eine tolle Serie für Freunde dieser Art von Filmen. Daher genau mein Geschmack und auf jeden fall sehenswert. Die Lieferung war schnell und die DVD's tun was sie sollen.

Die Serie ist wirklich sehr gut. Wenn man weiß, dass die Historie nicht immer genau genommen wird. Es ist also eine Serie, die vor dem Hintergrund der Erbauung von Versailles und dem Leben von Louis XIV. spielt. Sehr gute Darsteller, bis in die kleinen Rollen. Mit dem Set und den Kostümen hat man sich viel Mühe gemacht. Alles ist opulent ausgestattet. Perücken sind allerdings nicht weiss gepudert, wie es in der Zeit üblich war, was den Figuren aber mehr Lebendigkeit gibt. Tolle Deko der Räume, besonders die Szenen im großen Spiegelsaal von Versailles. Die Technik macht da viel möglich. Das ist sehr gelungen. In der 3. Staffel wird die Geschichte besonders spannend. Der Mann in der eisernen Maske wird einbezogen. Die gesamte Serie ist spannend, opulent und mit viel Liebe zum Detail erzählt.Das einzige, was mich absolut gestört hat, ist die furchtbare Musik. Das hat nichts mehr mit Barock oder Rokoko zu tun. Voller Fehlgriff der Macher. Das haben viele andere Serien besser gelöst. Dafür 1 Stern Abzug.DVD Ausstattung gut. Extras mit englischen Untertiteln. Einfach blöd. Heute sollte man auch am Extras ins Deutsche synchronisieren können. Sparen am falschen Ende.Das Gute überwiegt und ich gebe eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
