Salewa Crow Gore-Tex® Men's Mountaineering Boots

I am normally around size 9 to 10 shoe. I bought a size 11 boot, which fits me very well. I had absolutely NO problems with blisters. As you can see from the photos, I wore these boots in snowy conditions in Scotland and my feet were perfectly warm with double socks. I really liked the "cinch" lace hook which basically holds the lace under tension so that you can get a tight fit when lacing up. However, after 60km of walking over 3 days, my one ankle was tender (nothing to do with the boot I don't think - more my prominent ankle bone!), I loosened up the top part of the boot and still had no issues with movement of my heel in the boot. So a big win from that perspective. They were also totally waterproof, even when I walked into streams etc. I have now done around 40 hours of walking in them and still perfectly waterproof. The water just beads off the boot. I suspect this will eventually wear off but for now, it works very well. The only issue I had was that they felt hard underfoot. The soles of my feet felt rather battered by the end of the 3rd day. I did put in my own insoles (nothing fancy - just a set I had with me) that may have helped, but I do think I will invest in some decent insoles before my next big outing. There isn't much cushioning in the boot sole. All in all, I am pretty happy with these boots and they certainly offer great value for money. I give them 4 out of 5 (losing 1 star due to the underfoot comfort).

OMG... This boots are created exact for my feet.... so comfortable.... Love it Only info about size- Amazon have info about 6,5 but actually on boots have size 7 , but fits well no problems.....

Summary: These are the best hiking shoes I've had, completely waterproof, comfortable, grippy and they keep your foot and ankle very secure. Fit: True to size, also I struggle with ankle injury and these basically enable me to hike, they keep joint secure, yet mobile enough to walk comfortable. They are not very flexible - but that's a feature, they are suitable for crampons. Sole: Vibram sole is very grippy and number of times I was amazed how well it kept me on the track, in fact few times I expected to slip and they kept me upright! Waterproof: Waterproof is complete, not just grass, but you can dunk them in the water and stay dry - I tested this not just in action but also in the bucket when cleaning shoes. Comfort: Blisterfree guarantee just works - there's not a single area which would rub or chuff, even when I lace very tight to keep my ankle safe. Lacing: Easy and secure, quick to lace and unlace, once again can't stress enough how secure ankle feels in these. Recommended!

I wore this shoes hiking in Svalbard, the temperature was -28 degrees. My feet feel cold even I wore the thickest merino wool socks. So I think this shoes may be suitable for the temperature above -20 degrees. This shoes can prevent breaking my ankle. The weakness of it is weight. It is too heavy, so I don’t think beginners can wear it walking for long distance. It is very slippery when I walking in the wet mountains. Shoes are very hard, not comfortable, and not suitable for everyday wear.

Done 10 hours of hiking, so far waterproofing is solid, nice stability on the ankle, comfortable and an accurate fit, and seemingly good quality. One thing to note is that the insole is very hard - your foot does acclimatise but it may be worth getting softer insoles on longer hikes.

I bought these, well I ordered my first pair. Size 10. A 9.5 arrived. I returned them and ordered a size 10 replacement. I waited over a week for them to come. They eventually came. A size 9.5 again. Now I tried the first pair on and they felt tight. I was going to send the 2nd pair back after having an argument on the phone with Amazon about the mix up again. Then I thought I'll try them on again, because they do look good. Surprisingly this time, they fit great. Size 9.5 on the box and boots. I don't know if the sizes slightly differ but they fit. Took them on a short 8km hike up castle crag. They fit great. 100% waterproof, the grip is fantastic. Not sure about the sizing but everything else is top notch 👌👌

These seem really comfortable, with a great sole and seem able to take anything. They are super stiff so great for climbing in technical terrain, and crampon compatible. I did have to return them due to a slight squeeze of the pinky toes (a problem with my weirdly wide feet so wouldn't put this down to the boot) which became worse when I tried on with thick hiking socks, and would have got the next size up but none were in stock. Will put on my watchlist

Top qualité et confortable pas une seule amploule !

Ho scelto di testare questi scarponi come si deve, prima di scrivere una recensione. Ad oggi, ci ho percorso circa 350 km in montagna, compiendo escursioni di lunghezza compresa tra 15 e 30 km, a volte anche per due giorni di fila. Ho camminato con la neve (abbastanza fresca) che li copriva quasi completamente, senza avvertire sensazione di freddo e con i piedi sempre asciutti. Ho guadato torrenti e ruscelli, anche con acqua a metà caviglia, e non c'è stato segno di infiltrazioni. Non ho mai avuto problemi di bolle ai piedi, neppure indossando un solo paio di calze (non mi era mai capitato prima con un paio di scarponi). Sono comodi e leggeri, ci si dimentica di averli addosso. Allo stesso tempo, però, trasmettono sicurezza, fasciano molto bene la caviglia (una volta mi hanno salvato da quella che sarebbe stata una storta fatale) e sono robusti. I materiali sono di ottima qualità, al momento non presentano segni di cedimento o rotture. Sono freschi d'estate, ma anche a basse temperature non ho avuto problemi, con un paio di calzettoni più spessi. Hanno un'ottima presa pressoché su qualsiasi terreno, dalla terra alla roccia, purché non sia bagnato fradicio ovviamente. Presente anche la climbing zone in punta, e si possono montare ramponi semi-automatici (non ho ancora avuto modo di testarli però). Per la selezione della taglia, consiglio di usare lo strumento apposito presente sul sito ufficiale Salewa. È molto preciso. Da tempo desideravo provare un paio di scarponi Salewa, e devo dire che sono rimasto pienamente soddisfatto dal mio acquisto. Valgono ogni centesimo del loro prezzo, non li rimpiangerei nemmeno se li avessi pagati a prezzo pieno. Consigliatissimi a chiunque cerchi uno scarpone leggero, robusto e performante. E sono anche molto belli da vedere, se vogliamo la ciliegina sulla torta!
