I live in a basement with a router in the second floor of the house and let me tell you how annoying my other WiFi repeater was. I would have the occasional signal connect but it wasn’t capable of maintaining any real connections. But the walls and tight spacing made the signals too weak to work with. Even when it did connect, it was like watching a slideshow.I’ve used this WiFi repeater to repeat a 5g internet connection and better than being its own separate connection, it has automatically extended the range of the original WiFi into the dead corner of the basement being walls and the boiler room. In the back corner of the back room, the actual 5g network connection cannot reach at which point I switch it to the “repeaters” WiFi.For around 50 dollars, this has saved me a ton of work and I no longer feel the need of buying a second router and extending the range the traditional way. Wall penetration is definitely real and it’s extra antenna aren’t just for show.

I ordered this on Saturday and received it on Sunday...very prompt shipping (Thanks Amazon Prime). As I am not very tech savvy, it took a while for me to figure out how to connect it. Not all of that was my fault. The instructions were in a small booklet where the font was so small I had to use a magnifying glass to read them. Then, in the last step I had to add an "EXT" for the extension to the suggested filename or the device would not appear in my tray for available networks. After resetting the device several times I figured out the solution. I didn't see that step in the instructions. I don't think I missed it. Nevertheless, it is working quite well. Our house is a ranch and the router is located in a corner office so the wi-fi signal was weak at the other end of the house (kitchen area). The signal is vastly improved at three to four bars versus one or two before. Lag has been greatly reduced. I have only had this a week so I'm not sure of longevity, but so far it is well worth the money spent.

My son works out of his office in my home, and needs wifi for his job. The router is in his office. I recently moved my "office space" to a bedroom on the far side of the house from the router. I could not log in to our wifi. After some research, I ordered the Galaway extender, mostly because it had 5-star reviews on Amazon. I am only moderately tech-savvy, but it was very easy to set up and install, and it works perfectly! I would highly recommend this wifi extender.

This item didn’t work and I spent nearly two hours trying (and I’m an electrician engineer)! But perhaps worse is that the unit was too hot to hold after an hour being plugged in. Vampire load and perhaps a flame risk?

I bought this Galaway wi-fi extender and it knocked my lights out in 3 rooms, In 2 bedrooms & the bathroom the same day I got it. Now I'm gonna be out of money paying a electrician to fix the problem this Galaway wi-fi extender caused me.Beware don't buy this crap!!

This item worked for 5 minutes. It got so hot that I nearly scorched myself after having it plugged in for 5 minutes. Super easy setup the first time you set it up, but once you press that reset button to reset to factory default, it will never work again. I have been a network engineer for nearly 25 years, and this device is the worst piece of hardware I have ever purchased.

This will boost your wifi, but you will have to disconnect and re-connect to it' network whenever you go slightly out of range. I've found it to be more frustrating than anything else. My phone will struggle to get wifi right next to my main router because it's stuck on the extender's network or I'll end up streaming youtube for hours not realizing it dropped me and I'm on my 4G network. I would invest another $150 (like i'm having to do now) to buy an Orbi system or better router that actually extends the network without having to jump on and off multiple networks.The set up is semi straight forward and easy to do on a phone (like I did). But having to manually choose your network is more frustrating than anything else (I know... first world problems).If you just need to extend the range, this product will work great, but jumping back and forth between networks in a home setting is not ideal.
