USB C to VGA HDMI Adaptor, USB C to HDMI 4K @ 30Hz, VGA 1080P, 87W PD, USB 3.0 Port, 4 in 1 Type C to HDMI VGA Adapter for Nintendo Switch/iPad Pro 2018/Macbook Pro 2019/Dell XPS

Initially impressed when received in Sept19. I needed it for my HP Spectre x360 – 13. I already had a Anker USB-C hub with HDMI for use in my home office and needed something smaller, lighter for when I ran training and workshops at customer sites.Its a solid metal adapter unit. Perfect number of outputs - USB, USB-C, VGA and HDMI 4K – for use when I was away from the office with the Spectre’s 2x USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 (Thunderbolt™ 3, DP 1.2, PD 3.0, Data transfer, HP Sleep and Charge) ports.All four outputs worked fine. HDMI 4K display looked great. Tested on Asus gaming monitor and TV at home.I was happy for a while. Then had intermittent issues extending the display via this unit (no issue with the Anker hub, so it’s not the HP Spectre).Yesterday, I was setting up to run a training course, plugged in this USB C to VGA HDMI Adaptor and it didn’t work, not even intermittently. Annoying, when the course material was in PowerPoint and needed to be projected. Tried multiple devices through the day. No joy.Arrived home and tested this adapter again. Nothing. Plugged in the Anker USB-C hub and laptop screen extended to the monitor.I’ve probably used this adapter for no more than 100 hours and its failed.I will not be buying another. I need something more reliable. Learn from my lesson.

Good device, nice build quality and finish etc. Great for gernal USB C outup but the key thing i wanted to accomplish was to use it as a portable doc for my nintendo switches. I have to this day using the official Nintendo USB Ccharging plug and following the instructions provided to get it to output to any hdmi tv ecver with the nintendo switch :-(So I would love to give it five stars but i simply cant as it does not so what it was advertised to do fully!If you found this review helpful please click on the link below, thank you in advance!

Really pleased with this. Does everything I wanted with my Switch.Picture quality is good (only tried HDMI). Charging works as expected. The USB port happily powers and accepts input from a cheap GameCube controller and adapter. All of these things can be done simultaneously or separately — there’s no need to be plugged into power or a TV to use the USB port, for example.Construction seems solid but only time will tell how it lasts. This is going in my travel case so it’s probably only going to get light use, but I will update this review if it fails. Otherwise please assume it’s still working well.

Whilst it does its job, I find it very annoying that as soon as I plug it into my MacBook 12 inch, it messes up the display. Suddenly everything on the screen becomes smaller, and with a 12 inch screen it gets to the point that icons and writings are VERY small. Once I eject the device, everything goes back to normal, but It's a big negative. I can deal with it when I'm backing up my device, but when I need to do a presentation, it's a real pain.

This product works well with my Mac Boor Air 2019 (4 USB C Ports). The adaptor has one USB-C for connecting to the mac.One USB-C port for the powerOne 4K HDMI port for HDMI connectionsOne USB-3 (3.0) port for USB-A type connectionsOne VGA port for VGA connections.The connection was easy and it connected to my monitor without any driver requirements. Vidoes work with great clarity as well.

Delivered within 24hrs, does the job, not unnecessarily prominent nor bulky (at all) on my cramped desk, colour scheme (grey rather than silver) consistent with other equipment around it. Have not commented on durability since only used the product for one day (at time of writing) Overall a positive experience so far.

I wanted a small adapter for travelling with my new Macbook Air. I do a lot of public speaking and presentations, so needed to be able to connect to different screens. This has just the right set of connections - HDMI and VGA (VGA is always a useful backup), one standard USB port (handy for using a USB stick for file transfers) and a USB-C port which will pass through power to the laptop. It's a great colour to match the space grey Macbook. Metal not plastic, and feels sturdy. Fits neatly into my travel accessories pouch.

Bought it for an HP Spectre 360 - does not work as it is not Thunderbolt compatible. If you have an HP then select another make. Plugged it into my friend's Dell and it worked fine. Caveat emptor.
