Solid product
Hereโs my 11 year review - I ordered this bar in 2013. Iโve used it 5x+ a week since then. It hasnโt bent, warped, broke, had any bolt drift on the ends or anything else. Some slight rust discoloration since I left it in my outside workout area for a few years. I was thinking I needed some fancy name brand barbell to get into it or I would simple buy a new one when the time came. The time still hasnโt come. 10/10 worth every cent.

Product Great!...Watch out for shipping...
If you are looking to furnish your home gym you need this bar. You cannot beat the price for the quality. It is sturdy and can handle a lot of weight without bending and is a true 45 lb bar. The knurling is deep providing great grip. Now for packaging. The bar is shipped covered in oil to protect the metal from whatever elements it may face during shipping which is great. It comes off with some good dish soap and a rinse. Then the bar is covered in plastic then put in a cardboard tube. Now the main issue is the shipping. I worked for a major shipping company and I know how lazy forklift drivers can be. My package had a definitive spot where a fork punctured the package. It did scratch the bar a bit but no major harm was done. Given the awkwardness of the package I half expected this. There are some horror stories in the reviews about bent bars. This is not Amazon's fault. There isn't a much better way to package a product of this shape and size. Just be aware that there are careless forklift operators and your product most likely will come with a scratch or two on it. Is it worth the purchase? YES the quality is outstanding.

I can't believe this quality is under $100
I was pretty much on the verge of buying a $200 olympic bar when my search for a 45 lb inexpensive one was faltering. But then I came across this and glad I took the gamble. When using a scale it weighted out to be 44.8, so that's close enough for me. The packaging was superb and a welcomed surprise because I was pretty nervous due to another experience of a damaged barbell that this would be no different. As mentioned in other reviews, it does come well oiled. So if you're like me, and this is going into a home gym and not garage, make sure you take it out vertically and wipe as you move the plastic over it. So far no blemishes seen, the olympic fitting is spot on, and the black looks pretty rad. Can't complain and would recommend for anyone wanting a true weighted olympic bar. Pros --- Black is always cool! Perfect olympic sizing Perfect weight Cheap Sturdy and built strong Cons -- Comes super oiled, be careful will update when / if more issues are discovered

This is a great bar for the price
Overall: This is a great bar for the price. It is definitely much better for power lifts (bench, squat, deadlift) versus the Olympic lifts. The description of this item as an oly bar is a little misleading, hence my 4 star rating. But for the price, it holds up fine and is a great starter bar for a home gym. Some more details: the thicker bar diameter and much coarser gnurling is definitely noticeable versus other more expensive bars. Get ready to toughen up those hands on heavy deadlifts. You will want to invest in a Allen key the size of the pin to re-tighten if you plan to use this for crossfit workouts. It handles 330lb deadlifts with ease though and hasn't really shown signs of wearing down after 6 months. Ultimately this bar served its purpose by getting me back into lifting. It is about to change to my beater bar as I'm going to upgrade to the Vulcan One, but this is a great starter bar overall. Good luck!

Good Bar- Great Deal
This bar arrived with a light coating of oil on it. After wiping it down with rubbing alcohol to remove the oil, I used it for 3 weeks now with no problems. I have had no issues with chrome separation or flaking from the bar. Mine weighed in at 45.2 pounds. The knurling on the bar is very uniform and is not too aggressive. The bar ends spin freely. The bar seems to have a minute amount of taper, very slightly larger at the outside and thinner toward the inside. Spring collars do slide slightly if tugged at. The weights will not slide all of the way off if held at an angle. This isn't an issue for me as I bought the Bulldog olympic weight collars to secure the weights. This bar is very good and is a great deal.

Perfect for most lifters, maybe not for olympic or crossfit lifters.
I'm a competitive powerlifter and I've had a garage gym for almost 30 years, so I have experience using many types of olympic bars. My bar arrived perfectly straight, which was the main reason I wanted a new bar. I expected the oil residue because without it, the bare metal would show surface discoloration rust. I just wiped it off and then rubbed the entire bar with chalk to soak up any that was left. I know that as I use it and get sweat on it, some small amounts of surface rust will eventually appear, but I also know that this will clean off easily and do no harm. Lifting heavy weights isn't supposed to look pretty. I didn't want a chrome or nickel coating because I wanted the knurling to have as much grip as possible, which it does. The knurling is so good, I almost don't need to chalk my hands. The sleeves are a little closer together( a couple inches) which makes it slightly stiffer(less rebound when loaded) which is also what I wanted since I'm a powerlifter. It weighs a full 45lbs and my previous bar only weighed 40lbs, so I had to slightly adjust my weights. I didn't realize how many of the sporting goods store bars only weigh 40lbs, so when you put a pair of 45's on the weight is really only 130lbs. The sleeves revolve fine to me, but I'm not an olympic lifter or a crossfitter so it's not something I worry about. I've loaded mine to 825lbs and it didn't feel as if the bar was overloaded. My personal opinion is that it's probably the same bar as a 1000 or 1200lb rated bar, but this one has a lower weight rating to justify the higher price of the higher capacity bars(no proof, just my gut feeling).

Pretty good entry level oly bar. not for advanced lifters.
I've had this bar for about 4 years. It's held up well, its great for lifts in a rack and holds plenty of weight for me (i haven't put more than 300 lbs on the bar) with little flex. The bar has also stayed straight over the years. The quality of the bar, isn't the best in that i do see some rusty spots from time to time. My workout area is in my basement of a new house, i have never had water in my basement and humidity isn't an issue. So i would not use this in a garage or outside, i would imagine it would be extremely rusty after. Also the bar isn't meant to be dropped, dropping from even a few inches it sounds like you're smacking two hammers together (even with bumper plates). Its extremely loud. The spin is ok and the whip is average at best. Also the knurling is a pretty aggressive, it makes for a good grip but some people it might be a bit much. This is a good entry level bar and for the price it may be exactly what you need. Happy lifting!

Good training bar at a reasonable price
Not an Eleiko bar, but pretty good for one fifth of the price. The bar came with a coating of oil on it - which had to be removed with degreaser. After doing this and applying some chalk the bar has decent grip without being too abrasive. The caps feel solid in use, although they make a little noise when placing the weighted bar on the ground. The cap bearings spin about what you'd expect for a powerlifting bar, but might be a little tight if you're using it for olympic lifts. Bar has some flex without feeling springy (for the weights that I'm doing). Overall, a pretty decent bar for under $200. Obviously not a competition bar, but good enough for training.
