This product is far cheaper than any other Murphy bed hardware on the market, and delivers on quality! Since pre-made Murphy beds are exorbitantly priced, my only option was to make my own. With lumber being expensive right now, I did not want to spend another few hundred dollars on hardware alone. This fit my budget and is very sturdy. It glides smoothly and quietly. It is well built. Fair warning, it can get a bit messy when you take it apart to mount on the bed frame—it comes well greased! All the parts arrived quickly and boy are they heavy duty. The box was much heavier than I expected. In a good way! It’s built to last and worth the price. I like that you are able to remove springs depending on the strength you need for your bed. We left all of them in for our queen sized mattress. It still requires a little bit of strength to lift the first foot or so (if you have a thick mattress like we do) but then it easily and smoothly tilts closed. We could not be happier with its performance! I will say the instructions are a bit lacking. We studied the few images well to get a basic understanding, but had to figure out the rest on our own. We are handy, so we made our own build and assembly plans. Just plan on taking LOTS of measurements. It takes some careful thought but is well worth the effort.

The item works fine but the instructions are awful/useless which made installation very difficult for my application.

Instructions leave much to be desired! But if you watch some videos on YouTube and use some spare wood to test out the swing radius, the part works pretty well. I did the research and my dad and husband did the labor. We did a horizontal queen Murphy bed, total cost around $300 (not including the mattress). We had some material laying around so it wasn’t all brand new. You can adjust the tension in the springs, it doesn’t help much for the initial lifting of the bed but it definitely keeps it up against the wall. Definitely a better option than purchasing a whole Murphy bed frame!

The Vevor hinges are terrific: strong springs, sleek package and great value. The directions should tell you more about how to work with the hinges as you layout your design. A key tip is to unload the springs from the hinges so you can move the hinges freely to see how they work. Here are a few pictures of the queen-size murphy bed I built with these hinges. The beadboard cabinet looks good in an antique home. To start, I built just the frame using 5/4” x 4” poplar boards. That way I could see everything working before taking the time to build a cabinet. This simple frame may be all you need if your bed folds into a closet or wall. You can absolutely build a great Murphy Bed with the Vevor hinges.

+ Cheap, appears solid. - Instructions are non-existent. It's a picture of what you have. You go to the vevor site and the video is so blurry you can't make out any measurements. If you buy, you essentially have a $100 set of paperweight. Got the legs installed and am trying to figure out where I am supposed to install the hinge itself, no idea for the bed frame and no idea for in the cabinet. Tried customer support from Vevor, pointless there too, said "sent your request to urgent. You should hear something in 48 hours" Attached an image of the FULL instructions, yeah that's essentially all of it. "Just bolt it in, and put in the cabinet...."

I have been shopping for this type of a system for quite some time. I finally made the decision to order, and it was the best move. The product showed up on time, and in perfect condition. It is strong and durable. Works wonderfully with my application, looks great in my space, and proved to be quality. BD

I love the fact that this is an all pieces included kit. The only piece that is missing is detailed instructions. The instructions consist of a single page, with NO details on how to install, or things to consider. There is an adjustment bolt on the back of the kit, but there is no information on how to adjust, or align the two springs so that they match. My headline says it all, they do provide some small pictures, but they evidently assume you do this for a living. More detail would have saved hours of trial and error. 5 stars for the product 5 stars for the value 1 star for the instructions Hence the 3 star review. For someone that is more of a handy man or experienced in woodworking, I would definitely recommend. For a weekend hobbyist without much experience (like me), I'd go for help or one of the more expensive kits in hope that they have better instructions and don't leave you out in the cold.

Perfect for bed

The construction of this is solid, and it's priced right. I was able to install it without too much hassle however the instructions are a little lacking and it really needs a template for marking your bracket position and holes. Once you figure that part out, and get it installed, it's fantastic. I built a pine bed (single) and used these to install it in the cabinets I built (the bed is horizontal, not vertical) and the spring mechanism on it's lowest setting is enough that the bed won't stay open if it's just the frame. I need a mattress in it to give it enough weight to stay open. This will not be an issue if you use MDF or malemine panels for your bed frame.

I did my research prior to ordering this product. I made my Murphy bed plans according to what would fit in my desired spot. When I received this product I was thinking that it would come with either a template on where to place the mechanism on the outer frame and actual frame of my Murphy bed. To my surprise it did not. After three different positioning of mechanism and three holes later in my wood I found a placement that would work best. However the legs I have to use the other way because of no set directions on placement of mechanism. With only a poor picture to go by. I would recommend that you include a set of measurements and dimensions as a guide or template on where to place the mechanism in order for everything to line up correctly not hitting the back of the wall or outer bed frame. Overall the mechanism works great.
