Like others I purchased this for a 4SE
Like others I purchased this for a 4SE, and also found it did not fit... until I found some english language instructions (the supplied ones are in German) which state ‘The cut-outs are made for the 5SE; you may need to cut a little bit of foam away for the 4SE. This way, you can easily adapt the case to your needs.’Not sure how cutting the foam will affect the warranty, but the manufacturer states this is what you have to do - so next purchase will be a scalpel.Apart from that, looks well constructed - would have been 5 stars were it not for the DIY surgery required.

Snug but perfect fit
I notice that the only other reviewer for this item sent it back because he couldn't get his scope to fit in the case, and I must admit I nearly did the same, it is not self evident how the scope fits, so I looked closely at the photo on Amazon and realized that it was a mirror image, so with my lap top along side of the Baader case for reference, I put the scope in reverse order and it fits very snug, ideal for transporting, there's no chance of it moving. It will only go in one way so I took a quick snap of it in it's case so that next time I put it away I don't tear my hair out.

Don't waste your time for the Celestron NexStar 4SE
It doesn't fit the Celestron NexStar 4SE.It may fit the 5.Nice box though. Well made.Really disappointed. It also was slightly different layout to the picture.

Good overall but a bit pricey.
I did ponder a while before buying this as only 3 reviews didn't give any conclusive rating. I took a punt primarily on price as telescope cases do seem to be very pricey on the whole, so to get one under £200 for my Nexstar 5 was at least tempting. The case itself is reasonably sturdy and made from a combination of aluminium and decent grade plastics. All hinges and locks appear to be of good quality and build also. I note that a previous reviewer thought it was a bit flimsy. Not sure if they received a different model but I certainly don't get that impression. The interior foam is nice and firm and secure. As stated in another review it is a snug fit, but after a while you get the hang of it. So I can vouch it's about perfect for Nexstar 5.My only real winge is of course at the price. I have similar size record cases made from similar materials and made with equal quality that were a quarter of this price, so I guess it's a case of: they're that price level for the sake of it, and as all telescope cases from other manufacturers seem to be the same or more expensive, it just has to be put up with.Overall it's a solid good quality case.

DOES NOT FIT THE NEXSTAR 4SE (CLEARLY MADE FOR THE SMALLER NEXSTAR 5SE)
After receiving and unpacking the item, I nearly sent it straight back as I was expecting it to be made of solid metal, not a cheap plastic construction. I might pay up to £100 for this but it's definitely not worth £265.I decided to keep it as, regardless of what I've just said above, it does look more robust that the official case, which I think is fabric based.Imagine my disappointment when I was packing the telescope up for the first time and discovering that it literally won't fit inside the case, regardless of how you try to jam it in there, the case is just not made for the Celestron NexStar 4SE. I immediately returned it back to Amazon. Also, there were no instructions as to how you are supposed to orientate your telescope for it to fit. For £265 I'd expect instructions on how you are supposed to safely transport your telescope (worth between £500 and £800, depending on model) and accessories.Only positive thing about all of this is Amazon's slick returns procedure.

Five Stars
Excellent piece of kit. Greta because it takes the tube and mount without having to dissemble them completely.
