JEACENT AC Security Window Lock Bar, Window Security Bars - Sturdy Steel, Extends from 10" to 17 1/2" for Sliding Windows with AC Unit Installed

Tough little guy!

Wanted something to secure the sliding glass door from the house to our screened-in patio (lanai), so we could leave it open "just a crack" for the cat to use. When fully extended in the track of our older sliding door, it leaves about a 6 inch opening ... perfect for our Fat Cat, but too narrow for a human. This ended up being considerably cheaper (and much easier) than installing a cat door! There is virtually no installation. We just set it in the track, and even my adult son can't force the door open when it's in there. For added security it can be attached to the wall ... which I haven't gotten around to yet, but looks very easy to do.

This is an inexpensive metal security bar that is easy to use. It did come with some rust on one corner, but minor. It should probably have had a packet in the plastic bag/cover to absorb any moisture. It is easily adjustable, but the portions/sections are too big. The height I needed was either too short or too long to fit properly. I placed some hard, but flexible, rubber like plastic that I saved from a shipping box, on the top corner of the bottom window to solve this issue. Otherwise, I would not have been able to use this bar. For $18 this is much better than the thin wood (a paint stirrer - easy for me to cut by hand as a single woman), that I was using before & it is adjustable. This is much more secure in terms of AC safety & home security. I would recommend it knowing it will most likely not be a perfect fit & you have something to prop up the bottom.

I used this to secure a vertical window that has a window AC installed. It's well made but I was actually close to returning it because it was just a little too short for my window. The next peg down was too tight and the next peg up was too short. Just then, I realize that you can unscrew the rubber portion at the bottom for micro adjustments. If you can't get a tight fit on your window, you'll want to use the screw near the rubber portion to get it as tight as possible.I do think the bar is probably better suited for sliding glass since it will sit flat on the sill and keep the window from being opened. For vertical windows, someone could just break your window and just push the bar out of the way. I still think it's good to have and extra peace of mind but I would probably go a step further with sash locks in addition to the security bar for extra protection. It will certainly defeat the average dumb crook but if someone really wants in, you'll want more than a bar that can be defeated by breaking the glass.It's still a good product and very well made and sturdy which is why I'm going 5 stars.

I really liked the Strength of the steel It is very adjustable and locks in its place , Easy to Install and very discrete, worked well for my sliding window has a rubber end and smooth finish, I did not use any adhesive

I bought these to secure my ac units in the window. They were very easy to put in and had remained sturdy while keeping my ac in the window. These are great for the price!

Serves it's purpose. Not flimsy I use it when I put a/c in the window.

This product works well. I bought two. One is clean and does not look like it has been opened, but the other one has red dirt inside of the plastic and dirty fingerprints on the adhesive strips. Come on Amazon…
