Unfortunately, this results in increased noise. Disk Resonator Technology incorporates a brass umbrella that protrudes from the center of the diaphragm in Sterling Audio's ST59 microphone. It gently boosts the diaphragm sensitivity to shorter sound waves, allowing it to respond more accurately to those all-important higher frequencies. Be careful with your DAW or mixer, don't put any gain on them until you connect the microphone.
It's a great multipattern microphone. I alredy made some recordings of ensemble acoustic music. The omnidirectional mode is great. It percieves everythig with great detail. In cardio i tested it in vocals, also very good, great range of frequencies!

A well-built, heavy, and professional microphone for the price
Excellent and well-built microphone for professional sound and vocals.Currently using it for YouTube let's plays and commentaries, as well as livestreams, and it sounds crisp and clear. A bit on the gain-hungry side though, you will likely want a preamp/compressor AND a mixer for this guy to get the power it deserves.Warning: the shock mount and microphone itself are quite heavy, so you will definitely want a heavy-duty and professional mic stand/boom-arm to support this microphone.

Great for a low price
Have recorded with alot of condenser mics, this one is a steal for the price. The sound is true and crisp. Very full and warm. Perfect for any instrument, I find myself using it on instruments either beside another mic or by itself for some instances. Enjoy

Awesome warm sounding microphone
Awesome warm sounding microphone, solid build and heavy compared to my other 2 mics.I'm working with an artist that purely uses st59 for his vocals and with the proper reverb it gives one hell of a sound.I have the rode nt1a and akg C214 as well which are both good mics in their own respects.
