This works wonderfully and saves lot of pineapple from going to trash. Downside when you grab the handle, it has sharp sides which hurts your hand. It should be protected or soothened out.

I looked at this one and another at the same time not knowing which would be better. They were both very inexpensive (this one was about $2 and the other about $4), so I bought them both.Both shipped from China, and each took over a month to arrive (separate packages).This one is a folded metal design, like a tweezer.Pros: *Smaller end good for small strawberries, cherry tomatoes, etc. *Tips are pointed, which is good for removing olive pits, cherry pits, pineapple eyes, etc. *Single body metal design is simple, more durable, easier to clean.Cons: *Not good for big strawberries. *No spring in the joint, so harder to return to open position after squeezing. *Not as comfortable to hold.The other one looks a bit fancier. It has a plastic housing.Pros: *Plastic grip is ergonomic and looks nice. *Spring joint is very nice when using repetitively. *Good for larger strawberries and tomatoesCons: *Constructed of multiple parts, so will eventually wear out sooner, and is harder to clean. *Rounded tips not good for removing pits (e,g, olives, cherries, etc.) *Too big for tiny strawberries.I bought both thinking I'd keep the one I like and just give the other one away, but to be honest they are different enough that I expect to use each one to its own advantage when needed.
