One of the best pads out there!
I think it's rather hard not to compare this pad with Ruffwear Mt. Bachelor Pad for Pets, Medium, Granite Gray since they are about the same size, have a similar design and usage scenario and have the exact same price on the manufacturer's website. The Ruffwear pad has a very nice rubber bottom which prevents the pad from moving around if it is on a slippery surface, like tiles or hardwood floors. Unfortunately, this is also its worst design flaw, as the rubber seems to be rather thin and tends to tear if washed repeatedly in very hot water. I've also noticed some tears after storing the pad in the trunk during a couple of very hot summer days. The Dublin Dog Nomad Pad is bigger (28x40 compared to Ruffwear's 27x34) and slightly softer (it has an 1.5" height compared to Ruffwear's 1"), which is great when it's laid flat but it will also use up more space when travelling. The TuffTek bottom seems like it's heavy-duty rubberized fabric which I hope it will last longer than the one on the Mt. Bachelor pad. The sleeping surface is polar fleece which feels a bit cheaper than the microsuede, but my dog does not seem to care. All in all, this pad seems to be better and more durable than the Ruffwear pad and until they'll change the bottom, I will probably recommend the Dublin Dog pad.

seems sturdy.
I ordered this to use when our dog is on the road and outside with us. The mat seems sturdy and has a nice waterproof backing. The Velcro straps and loops attached to the back can be used to roll it up for easy carrying. My only complaint is that there is actually very little padding in the mat, so it can only be used as a short term bedding. Since we only purchased it to keep our dog off the ground, it serves of purpose well.

Very good quality and rugged
Very good quality and rugged. I can see this holding-up well on any surface and lasting for years. I use it on a regular basis when hanging out on the patio and place it on concrete at local cafes or restaurants, but would think it would be excellent for a camping bed or hanging out at the park too. Before I got it, the dogs would just sit and not want to lay down on the hard concrete, but now they lay down and chill. The medium 28 x 40 has plenty of room to fit both my 55 lb hound and 11 lb fatty chihuahua. My only improvement would be adding an integrated or detachable shoulder strap to sling it instead of just the carrying handle, since carrying a book bag / briefcase, the mat and two dogs on a leash is cumbersome. I have remedied this by using a yoga mat carry strap, but would have spent a few more bucks to save a few moments of attaching a shoulder strap each time I roll it up to transport.

Quality pet mat - made to a high standard.
These mats are top notch. A quality product that is very well made. Brillant as a travel mat.The top part of the mat is a soft comfortable fleece material (it's quite thick). The border of the mat is made from a different material that is very sturdy. This prevents your dog from chewing it (not sure how much damage a pup would do?) and also provides extra robustness to the mat. Underneath, the mat uses the same sturdy material as the border and it is also non-slip (very effective). Also underneath are ties and buckles for rolling the mat up for storage,I bought the last 2 of these at a very low price. To be honest I wouldn't buy them at the regular price as they would be too expensive for me but they are a really well made product. If needed perfect for travelling. I got these mats for the tiled floor of my conservatory - I wanted something light and comfortable for my dogs. Straight away my dogs loved these. Also they are handy for picking up and storing when needed.
