SIIG Digital to Analog Audio Converter (CE-CV0011-S1)

My BluRay only has a digital coax audio ouput, so I needed a way of getting that audio into my analog stereo receiver. The SIIG D-to-A converter was exactly what I needed. It was reasonably priced, easy to connect and sounds great.

I was willing to get a better piece of gear than the $20 no-namers that were getting spotty reviews. So I looked to the SIIG and hoped it really was better quality.I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging that immediately gives the impression that they take themselves seriously (has a manual too), solid aluminium chassis, the perfect options I needed (analog L/R in, digital coax &/or toslink out). I have it converting analog out of my office TV to my sound card's optical input for a couple months now, not the slightest issue, distortion, or conversion delay/sync problem.

The sound quality did not get better, even the volume was depressed.

The old model TV in my RV went out and was connected to a Fisher DVD surround sound system. Put in a new Samsung TV, but could not connect the surround sound DVD. Bought this, hookup was very easy. it works great and I now have surround sound again!

Could not make it work even the Replacement unit. So disappointed, lost purchase money and shipping fee to send it back to Siig.

Worked great. Got me out of a bind.
