Bowing on CBS in 2018, this reboot of the favorite '80s action/drama found Jay Hernandez slipping into the Hawaiian shirts as Navy SEAL turned private investigator Thomas Magnum, working his trade while serving as the security consultant and more-or-less permanent houseguest of never-seen novelist Robin Masters. Rounding out the cast were Perdita Weeks as Masters' major domo, ex-MI6 operative Juliet Higgins; Stephen Hill as chopper pilot TC Calvin; and Zachary Knight as barkeep Rick Wright. 20 episodes on 6 discs. 14 hrs. This was hard to get even at this price. Wanted the first season. I own the original five o season one with Jack Lord. Great series, CBS has a lot of old 70’s tv series that they do not stream on any platform at all. Reasonably priced, arrived on time. Wrapped securely. Case and discs looked cared for.

Magnum P.I. affords us Jay Hernandez alluringly astute as Thomas Magnum in alluring, astute Hawaii
Magnum P.I. night allowed me a Family Movie Night with my felines assembled at the bed edge close to their favorite actor, Jay Hernandez. My felines chose as their most favorite episode The cat who cried wolf even as I chose it too, along with Six paintings, one frame and The day it all came together. There's everything to inspire me about incredible Hawaii and its incredible Polynesian-ancestored native Hawaiians, nothing to instill in me anything but the most intelligent and interesting of inclinations and intentions from Magnum P.I. and its interpreter, Jay Hernandez.

Excellent season one
Good solid entertainment. They don't make shows like this often enough. It could run 8-10 years, but with writers strike.... I doubt it.

LOVE this new series as much as the original one
I've been watching this NEW Magnum PI series on CBS, but I didn't start watching it until Season 3, so that is why I wanted to see Seasons 1&2. I will admit it took me a while to adjust to it, because I also LOVE the original Magnum PI with Tom Sellick. I like all the characters and am happy their all there. T.C., Rick, and Higgins, the red Ferrari and 'the Lads'. Sometimes you just have to let go, the original series was 1980, and now I'm enjoying the new series immensely, and still love the old one too. I would say to the writers and actors, 'WELL DONE', and thank you for staying true to the original series.

I give it 5 stars for the British chick
Ok the show is predictable and all the episodes are the same the guy playing tm is a ok actor as well as rest of cast. However the British women is hot and a good actress can’t wait to see more of her

Love the character interactions
Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks have wonderful chemistry and so very much enjoy their bantering back and forth. As the season progresses their characters progress too. Magnum (Jay) has great, dependable friends in Orville and T.C. Really enjoy the back and forth dialog with Magnum and Detective Katsumoto. Scenery is spectacular and the Ferraris- well they are dynamite. Love the show!

Magnum PI DVD Review
I received this DVD in about 2 weeks. It plays well, but I feel the price was a little higher than what I like.

ドラマの内容は文句なしに面白いので、DVDの発売が嬉しくて注文しましたが、届いたDVDを再生しようとしたところ、「再生できない地域番号のディスクです」と表示され、再生できませんでした。商品の説明も大雑把で、ディスク枚数が1となっていたため、シーズン1すべてのエピソードは入っていないだろうし、どのエピソードが入っているのか不安でしたが、英文のレビューにディスク5枚ですべてのエピソードが入っていると書かれていたので、発注しました。確かにディスクは5枚入っています。再生できませんが・・・。くどいようですが、ドラマ自体はとても面白く、また大好きな俳優も出ているので、ちゃんと見られるDVDならまた注文します。

Als Riesenfan der Serie "Hawaii Five-0" vom selben bewährten Chefproduzenten und teils mit den gleichen Darstellern/Serienfiguren (Kamekona, Dr. Cunha usw.), musste ich einfach "Magnum P.I." einschalten und finde auch dieses "Reboot" absolut gelungen. Es macht einfach Spass, zuzuschauen. Die Darsteller und die Serienfiguren, die sie spielen, sind supersympathisch. "Latino-Magnum" Jay Hernandez ist noch dazu "was für's Auge" ohne den altmodischen Schnurrbart des Original-Magnum. Und Hawaii als Kulisse ist sowieso immer sehenswert.

Whilst keeping the key characters from the original TV show this stands alone as very enjoyable entertainment updated to the 21st century. Magnum and Higgy make good sparring partners with a twist on the previous pairing. Roll on the next series and cross-overs with Hawaii 5-O.

The DVD came before time and was worth every penny. The quality is great and there's extras on each dvd 5 in all. Can't wait to buy the next series when they eventually come out.
