Betts Carolina Rig Floaters
As noted by an earlier reviewer, the Betts Floater may not work well in current, but in still lake water, they are excellent. We like to drag soft plastics for largemouth bass on gravel banks. We peg a lead bullet sinker on the line 18 inches above a wide gap hook on which the soft plastic is Texas rigged. Sliding free on the line between the sinker and the hook is a Betts Floater. We've extensively compared rigs side by side, with and without a Betts Floater, and we get at least twice as many hits on a Betts Floater-equipped rig. Bottom line... they work.

not as bouyant as I hoped
The 3/4 inch size, when rigged ahead of a standard 3" tube gitzit style jig on a Carolina rig, does not float the tube jig and 1/O hook. It sort of makes it "neutral." This is fine if you have a tube jig, though, because you can stick a second betts bullet float inside the tube. The betts float rigged like a bullet sinker sliding on the line combined with the betts bullet float inside the tube jig does indeed float the rig off the bottom. Coincidentally, the betts bullet fits tightly (but not too tightly) inside the belly of the tube jig. In other words, it doesn't slide out.If you were hoping to float another plastic lure like a jelly worm or something though, with no chamber to lodge the second 3/4" bullet weight, your worm would not float, or float very, very weakly before sinking back to the bottom. That said, I've been waiting for this PRECISE type of product to come out and it's the only thing on the market that does this that I know of. I even went to a craft shop and bought plastic beads with holes in them, only to find out the plastic beads completely sank (!) (?). So for now, this is the only game in town for sinking a Carolina rig to the bottom, then popping it back up about 10 inches off the rocks of the swift Potomac river.

Two Stars
Do not float very well. You need a very light bait, lure or hook to float your line.
