I have numerous Aegis drives. Small issue or large they just handle it prompley.Also the drives are dependable and safe for your documents. Can't be more happy.

Well built case
This hard drive works well. I am concerned that it is fragile because of the mechanical hard drive. It would be better if I opted for the SSD.

Good Price. Delivered Quickly.
I needed a secure drive of this type for a project. I received it just a few days after ordering, even though I used standard shipping. The drive works perfectly, no issues, and actually easy to use. Looks and feels solidly built but is small and portable.

Mine didn't work on arrival.
For background, I own the Apricorn 16 and 32 GB thumbdrives, and the 1 and 2 TB harddrives. I have owned them all for many years and they work great. This 5 GB harddrive was a huge dissapointment. It allowed me to set the password. I transferred a total of three files before it stopped accepting data and froze up my Windows File Explorer. I retried the entire process of disconnecting, putting in the password, and try to transfer my data to it. The results were always the same. I sent it back to Amazon and received a refund.

Love it
Very sleek and easy to use. Made with tough material. So far I love it, storing all financial and login info. Also turned on unattended lock feature to lock the device after 5 minutes it’s been idle.

Secure drive but slow
I needed a secure drive to store a lot of sensitive data, so I decided to take a chance with this one. It's relatively easy to set up and program to your liking, just be aware that the transfer speeds are not very fast if you need to write a lot of data as I did. It is a hard drive after all, not solid state. It also runs pretty hot when under heavy use, so make sure there is adaquete ventilation around it. Hopefully this drive will prove to be reliable in the long run. All in all I'm pleased with this drive - it's built well, not to difficult to use, and the price is reasonable for what it offers. One final note, the led's do not turn off when you put the computer to sleep, just in case that bothers you.

So Far So Good
I just finished a file copy of several gigabytes that took an hour or so of data transfer and near continuous writing and reading (file verification). Worked just fine.Data transfer rates using the USB3 cable were surprisingly fast considering how much data I pumped into it, and even more impressive is the fact the unit did not even warm up during this process.
