Manhattan Toy Groovy Girls Primrose 2019 Release Soft Fashion Doll

I have the Groovy Girls from the 2000s. This is a 2018 model. No wonder they discontinued the entire GG line in 2019, because already in 2018 the quality has declined a lot. They must have lost their original manufacturer (increasing labor costs in China?). The new supplier doesn't know how to get it done right. This Groovy Girl, Primrose, has an unfriendly, almost scared expression (you can't tell from the Amazon picture). Her eyes are not embroidered properly. She has no dimples for knees and her feet are lightweight (not the big heavy feet of the old models) and stuffed with polyfill of an inferior feel. Even her yarn hair is a cheaper kind of yarn. Her overalls are poorly-shaped, with a big loose belly in the middle, and make her look like she's wearing maternity clothes.Compared to the older Groovy Girls, this is an inferior doll. I'm keeping it because I'm a completionist. However I've remodeled her completely and given her better clothes. Otherwise she looks so sad. I wouldn't give this to a child!

An update to my review (below): I emailed the manufacturer with my review and they were very helpful. They replied immediately that they had never had this problem reported to them before and sent a replacement for the doll right away. It's been about a week since we received it and so far it hasn't had the same problem. My son still loves the doll a lot so I'm hopeful it will continue to hold up!Original review:I purchased the Logan doll for my son 3 weeks ago. I spent several days carefully researching many dolls and chose Manhattan Toy because of the excellent reviews and reputation. My son loves it but after only about a week of playing with it, both feet came halfway apart from the legs at the ankles and the stuffing was falling out. When I looked, I found very poor construction. There was no hem seam on the fabric of the legs, causing it to fray almost immediately. My son loves the doll (his first) and he wants to carry it everywhere - so I stitched it up today. But because of the poor manufacturing I already see the fabric fraying and my stitches falling out. It's obvious that this is a problem that I won't be able to properly fix and I am disappointed that this is happening to a toy my son has already developed a strong emotional attachment to.

I used to babysit a little girl eons ago who had loads of these adorable, great quality plush dolls. Now that I have my own baby girl, I wanted to buy one as her first doll. I was able to score the internet and was so excited they still made Groovy Girls!I'm so excited with this doll. Perfect little size, amazing quality (looks way better in person than online), and very affordable. My baby is afraid of the yarn hair, but she's only 8 months old.My one complaint is there needs to be more representation in this line!!!

I bought this doll to put in my 18 mos old son's easter basket this year. We wanted to start teaching him empathy/sympathy in a relatable way ex. sharing, being gentle with others. I thought this doll would be perfect (also kind of looks like him) At first all he would do is pick the doll up, hug him and then toss him and giggle. We are slowly mastering the "lessons". That being said, "Logan" is adorable and well made. His hair is made of yarn so not for yanking but so far he is holding up well to getting tossed periodically by my toddler ha.

Love the cute doll. The clothes are not removable though they appear to be. You might be able to get them off once you remove the few stitches that hold them on, BUT his head and feet are HUGE. A child would never be able to remove and replace the clothes. I am still giving it 4 stars because my nephew loves it, plus I am crafty and made him some clothes that are easily removable.

Very cute doll. Other reviews are right... it is small but it’s ok it’s cute. Hair is much longer than in the original picture. The only thing I’m disappointed is that hair is already falling. I don’t think it will last long

I thought this was shaped more like a raggedy ann doll; a little bigger. It's more shaped like a Barbie doll, tall and skinny. I would have liked it to be thicker as I bought it for my young grandson so he would not be jealous of his sister's new dolly and stroller. I don't think he was impressed with it, but he was happy with all the boy toys I bought him anyway. It was kind of expensive for the size.

Our daughter with special needs will literally not play with any other kind of doll. I pray that Groovy Girls stay in business forever, because I don’t know what we’ll do. It was well-made, sturdy, and the ski outfit was so cute!

Boy dolls are hard to find. This little one looks authentic.
