Nursery Rhymes (Kate Toms Series) Board book – September 1, 2010

Although this is not a huge, comprehensive collection of the "old school" nursery rhymes this is a favorite with my 2-year-old. I love the pictures, and also the fact that it has the full version of the rhymes it does include. I never knew there were three verses to "Row Your Boat!" I got it from the library after storytime one day, and we liked it so much I decided to order it so we'd always have it.

The pages on this book are not as thick as a typical board book, but they are sturdy enough. My 1 year old enjoys the pictures, and what I especially love is that the illustrations are detailed enough that there is actually something meaningful to point to for each line of all the rhymes! For example, "Itsy Bitsy Spider" has pictures of the spider going up the water spout, the rain, the sun drying up the rain, and Itsy going up again! Great for building language skills.

I like the cardboard pages and the variety of nursery rhymes to choose from as does my 18 month old. I'd buy again.

Love this nursery rhymes book. I bought s few different nursery rhymes books and was disappointed about some very grim/unpleasant rhymes. The ones in this book are all pleasant. Cute illustrations. The kids love this one.

I love the book, but it is not in great shape.

This is one of our favorite books. So much so that this is the second copy we've bought since we wore out the first. My only complaint is I do not like Sing a Song of Sixpence -- it's such an unpleasant rhyme. But we skip that one and the kids are none the wiser.

This book is one of my 16 month old daughter's favorites. She can even ask for some of the rhymes by name. This is now a go-to gift for other young children. Toms's illustrations are wonderful -- well executed, colorful, lively, and quirky enough for a parent to stay entertained even after reading it for the upteenth time.

Love this book. I take care of an 18mo old and she puts everything in her mouth and will rip pages of books. She can do whatever she wants with this book and it will still be perfect. Also, she adores the nursery rhymes and we read and reread them all day long. Fantastic!!

My grandchildren absolutely adore this book..they can't get enough of it
