The Ropin' LP was issued on Third World's Justice subsidiary in 1980-a sub label set up to handle Striker's product in the UK (though hits like 'Mash You Down' and the title track had been handled in Jamaica by Joe Gibbs). One of the album's outstanding moments is 'Bandulu,' an anti-rude boy epic voiced on the 'Late Night Blues' rhythm, while opening cover, 'Just My Imagination,' has an uncredited toasting portion from Errol Scorcher.

ROPEY
the silken tones of Cee Cee over early 80's recordings, bar track 9,which is substituted with a song from the mid 70's,Natural Facts,in turn taken from the Striker Lee produced LP/CD, Natty Dread In A Greenwich Farm.Suggest the original track nine had a fault on the vinyl this release is mastered from.Quite a bit of surface noise on the CD.The first track appears to be a bonus,as it is a 12" discomix, featuring what sound like Errol Scorcher to my ears.
