A surprisingly awesome hard shell case!
Before settling on this hard shell, I scoured the web for ANY Incase, Speck, and Hard Candy that would fit my new baby, the Retina MacBook Pro. I wanted a name brand for quality, after all. However, when I couldn't find anything in stock (excluding one pink case made by Speck), I found this case on Amazon. At first, I will admit, I was a bit hesitant to buy a case for my new $2,000+ laptop from a brand I'd never heard of. But I gave it a shot anyway. Low and behold, this case is in fact just as good - dare I say BETTER? - than any Speck or Incase hard shell I have put on my old MacBook Pro. Pros: -Easy attachment to the body of the laptop. -Looks great! I personally disagree with the reviewer who doesn't like the four bumps on top of the case - they are hardly even noticeable. -Design does not add much bulk to the laptop itself. In fact, it fits quite easily in to my old Incase sleeve I used for my "old" (2010) MacBook Pro with the case on. -Appears as if it will show fewer scratches than most clear hard-shell cases. If you've ever owned on by Speck, you know how easily these things scratch. However, this case isn't *quite* as clear as Speck's, which will likely make it more conducive to hiding small scratches. -Fold-out legs for convenient desktop use. I've never seen this on a hard shell case before, but I love it! It makes for much easier typing. -Price: for $20, the price point can't be beat. And my case came with a free keyboard cover and stylus. Sure beats paying almost $50 for competitors' products. Cons: -Keyboard cover sticks to display upon opening laptop. This one doesn't relate to the product in question itself; however, if this company is going to include a keyboard cover with its products, it should ensure that it won't stick to the screen. In defense of iPearl, though, many other keyboard covers for the rMBP have similar issues. -Fold-out legs snap back in quite harshly - I've yet to notice any scratches/marks from folding the legs in and out, though I would recommend to any buyers to use caution when doing so to prevent damage to their new shiny Macs. Verdict: -For anyone who doesn't feel like shelling out $50 for a hard shell, this is a great way to protect your new device. In fact, you may never go back those other brands after using this product. Don't be put off by the unknown brand name like I was! You will miss out on a quality hard case. And let's not forget to mention the free extras - a keyboard cover and stylus!

An Excellent Product
Excellent quality and perfect fit. Provides a good protection for my MacBook Pro. I previously had a more expensive brand, and was skeptical about ordering this one, but I wanted to give it a try, since the price was less than half compare to the other brand, I have ordered two of them, a black one and a clear one. They both fit very nicely and the black one especially makes my Mac look more unique. When I have the clear one on, you can't even tell that it has a hard shell on, it has a fine pebbly surface, much nicer than my older shiny one, as the shiny surface shows every little scratch. The shell for the bottom is easy to snap on, but as for the shell for the lid, at first it was hard to figure out which end is the top, though if you look at it closely, there is a little arrow on the corner indicating the top. The shell came with a silicon keyboard protector, that is not very useful, as the edges of the keys have hard rims, if you are doing a lot of typing you will find it annoying, as 2 or 3 out of every letter in a word is missed, unless you hit the keys really hard to make sure they are pressed. I keep the keyboard cover on, when I am doing browsing, social networking, working on graphics or photos where there is little typing required, but I remove it when I am typing a letter or a longer correspondence. Never the less it looks great, and it is hard to tell that there is a protector over the keyboard as the keycaps are black with crisp white lettering, matching the MacBook keys exactly, as seen in the photos. Overall, I am really happy with the purchase

What you'd expect and more!
The iPearl cover is exactly what I was expecting; Plus more. Packaging: The packaging was okay, it comes in a plastic carrier that you could reuse if you wanted, with two buttons to open and close it. The pieces inside are then individually wrapped in plastic that you rip open and then throw away. Free Keyboard cover: As for the key board cover I will give this about 2 and a half stars. I was going to originally buy a separate cover but when I started researching clear covers I saw that this one came with a free one, so I thought hey why not. Well the keyboard cover is sort of a glossed over transparent color, and it has mCover by iPearl written on the space bare. I don't like the words written on the space bar. The fit isn't very good it could be a lot more snug but the placement is correct. If you tilt or lift your computer at all the keyboard cover will fall right off. Now this is the only keyboard cover I have had experience with but I think if you want a serious keyboard cover it would be worth it to purchase else where. If your not anal and small things don't bother you then this would probably be just fine for you. Next I would like to note that that along with the free keyboard cover, a free stylus was included! I thought that was pretty cool and it works on the mouse pad nicely. It definitely is not a super defined point or anything though so if you need a stylus for things like drawing this is probably a little to big of a point. Still and awesome surprise thought because I had not realized it would be included. Okay now for the case itself! The case is great. Its simple, its light, its not bulky and it appears to be completely clear (not glazed). The bottom included two little spokes that you can pull out to put your laptop at an angle if you don't want it to sit completely flat on a surface. It also has two circular modules to help your computer from slipping on surfaces. I am curious to see how long they last and stay attached to the case. The installation was super easy, although the instructions say to turn off computer or put in sleep mode I didn't even find that much necessary as I didn't have any contact with the screen or keyboard through installation. The only thing I do not really like is the slots and circles on the bottom part of the case, Im not sure if this is for cooling and is a necessary component but if not I'd say this case would look even cleaner if it was just solid on the bottom. Over all I am happy with my purchase!

Perfect case for MBP Retina
I wanted a case for my new MacBook Pro Retina 15 and while there are many choices available the iPearl mCover Hard Shell was the perfect one. I wanted a hard case and not a sleeve or cover that would be durable and obviously protect my computer from abuse while not adding extra weight and bulk to the device. This case is perfect for the job. It fits exactly with very tight tolerances to the Retina version of the MacBook Pro while still allowing access to all ports and intake air vents on the sides. I chose the clear version and it shows off the MacBook very well and the plastic is hardly noticeable until looking up close. The Apple logo is clearly visible lit and unlit. This case does not add too much extra weight and bulk which is nice since the Retina version is so much thinner than the previous generation. The case wraps around the edges and corners which is usually the prime location for dings so it is great that it will be protected. The rubber feet give it added traction to a slick surface but there are only two near the front. It would be better if there were rubber feet on all four corners as well as on the retractable feet. The retractable feet are a nice addition to elevate the computer on a desk. Installation was easy enough. The two pieces just snap on to the chassis. Installing the top half for the screen requires a bit of gentle pressure especially since the Retina display is more fragile so don't force the case onto the computer. There is very tight tolerances between the case and chassis and there is not any noticeable movement between the parts. The screen closes flush to the computer so there is no blockage anywhere. Removing the case is a bit more tricky since it is on tight. Like before, just apply gentle pressure but don't force it off. They threw in some extra goodies like a keyboard cover and stylus for touchscreen devices. I haven't used them and this is not a review for them but I will say thank you for the extras. Overall, this case is perfect fit and finish for the MacBook Pro Retina 15 and hopefully will provide superior protection for an expensive device. I definitely recommend this case to anyone who has a MacBook Pro Retina 15 and wants to keep it protected.

Great value, nice looking, with a good seller
After having the very expensive popular name brand case last less than six months before the rear tabs broke off, making it easy for the laptop to slip out of the shell, I needed a different case. (The manufacturer of those did replace the first one under warranty, but when the replacement broke just past six months they told me that "the year was up.") If this case lasts six months only I'm way ahead - way better price. The design at the rear corners is slightly different so I'm hoping that'll make it last longer, and the material itself seems thicker and tougher. ("thicker" being relative... a couple fractions of a fraction of an inch...) I think the blue looks really good, too. The case surface feels like it should be slippery, looks that way, but there's a slight texture there when you pick up the computer with this case on, that makes it feel more secure than your first impression would think. The case fits snugly - snugly enough that putting it on wasn't a breeze, but if it went on effortlessly it'd come off effortlessly. I don't much care for the legs in the back, don't like my keyboard at that angle, but I know others who think it's the best feature. If you don't use the legs, you've got grip on the edge near you but the back is slippery folded plastic legs. I've put a little friction tape on the legs so that the rear holds on too. The keyboard cover is cool, and I really liked it initially, but for some reason it changed the feel enough that I could no longer type as fast, so I'm not using it. My wife took it for her MacBook, though, and loves it. The price is excellent just for the case, so if you also like the cover, consider it a bonus... if you don't, your significant other may like it. I have the iPearl cases on my work MacBook Air 13, and on my 15 inch MacBook Pro Retina, and everything I said above - including how poorly the original cases from another brand held up - apply equally. My Air's case is black, and while the blue looks a lot better (personal opinion), the black fits in nicely with all the other black laptops on the conference tables at work. The seller has been really eager to be helpful, and that's a good thing. Do follow the tips and instructions they send - they're good.

Excellent protection for your multi-thousand dollar MacBook Pro investment.
This cover is perfect for my new MacBook Pro 15.4 inch, with Retina display and the force touch pad. It fits the notebook perfectly with no edges protruding that cause pain. I saw a video where someone was complaining about the clips rubbing their hand, well, there are no clips in the front at all; therefore, either this case has been redesigned recently, or the reviewer had it on backwards. In fact, the plastic on the front of the notebook adds a rounded edge where the sharp edge of the aluminum is and makes the computer more comfortable to use. I enjoy the little clips on the bottom that raise the back of the MacBook. I thought they would be flimsy when I saw them on the webpage; however, they seem strong enough to use for a long time, now that I am actually using the cover. It is much easier to type on the notebook with the back end raised. The case is very light and adds little weight to the notebook. I feel much better knowing that the aluminum of the computer is covered. Aluminum is a relatively soft metal, and, while the notebook doesn't seem to scratch easily, I am sure that it will scratch, and I would rather the plastic case take the scratch than my very expensive MacBook Pro. It actually makes it easier to carry the computer because the plastic cover seems more "grippy" than the aluminum of the computer's body. Be sure to match the model number of the computer to the exact case type for your MacBook Pro. For instance, on the little label on the bottom of my MacBook I found the number A1398. I ordered the iPearl case designed for that exact number, which is listed in the heading of the Amazon ad page. It fits perfectly! I bought this cover intending to use it only when I took the notebook out of the house with me, for protection. However, now that I see the cover on the computer, it does not detract from the MacBook's handsome appearance and adds protection. I have, therefore, decided to keep the cover on the computer at all times, for peace of mind. It came with a nice little keyboard cover, which seems okay. It fits the keys pretty well, but is not all that useful to me. It makes the keys feel weird because of the rubber feel, although, it does add protection from dust and spills. I will keep the keyboard cover with me when away from home and, if in a bad environment, will use it to protect my valuable investment. The case design has not caused any heat buildup because all the vents are fully uncovered. It even has vents on the bottom simply designed to prevent general heat buildup in the aluminum case. Great design! It was easy to install. I didn't even have to use the instructions. When installing the top cover, just point the arrows toward the front of the computer and snap it in well. On the bottom cover, install it from the back first. For the price, I am well satisfied with this iPearl cover and heartily recommend it for those who are afraid that they may scratch their multiple-thousand dollar investment. I wasn't sure that I actually needed this cover when I first saw it, but now, I'm glad I bought it. Just a little cheap insurance!

Not only scratch protection
The clear mCover hard shell case was easy to snap on and feels secure. It's a perfect fit and defect free. Although I do not use the rear feet in their extended position (which raises the rear up about 1 1/2 inches), even when they are not extended they still slightly raise the rear of the MacBook Pro (about 1/8 inch), which subtly improves the ergonomics but doesn't so drastically alter the angle of attack as when the feet are flipped down. The increased space created underneath the bottom, even with the rear feet not extended, along with the profuse ventilation slits on the underside of the case, seems to keep the computer cooler. Although only the front feet have tacky pads, their tackiness is greater than that of the original 4 feet combined, so the computer is slightly more slip resistant on surfaces with the case on than without the case. This, and the fact that the case makes the computer much easier to grip and more secure in the hands when moving it is, in my opinion, perhaps the most important part of the protection this case provides. PS I've now started using the rear feet in the extended position, which at least makes the keyboard easier to see and the speakers better to hear as it angles them about 15° from horizontal toward the viewer/listener. It also raises the screen up more to eye level. PPS I started to notice a bit of scratching on the table under the left leg of the stand when they were employed when I moved the laptop on the table. Upon inspection I found that the left leg (only) had a sharp edge across the end where it contacted the table. With a bit of very fine sandpaper, I carefully polished this down; now it is not a problem. Also, even more recently, after using the legs in the extended position for maybe a month, I find that because they are not angled to compensate for the raised position and are attached to their receptacles with only a tacky type adhesive, they migrate out of their receptacles, sticking loosely behind them with their adhesive. I have just tried to secure them with a super glue gel--I hope the stick fix sticks.

Solid sheer cover for Retina Macbook Pro 15" (2012 model)
I haven't used a hard shell case before, and so it was with some reservations about fit, durability and appearance of the case that I ordered it. I carry around my mac a lot and it has started accumulating those little nicks and bumps from daily use. This case has been nothing but a delight to use. It is a glazed clear case, so that if you put it on the mac, you almost don't notice it. The fit is snug, no loose corners jutting out. Lastly, the lower part of the case has a lot of holes and slits, and when put on, the mac actually sits a few fractions of an inch above the surface due to the small rubber pads. I think this facilitates better ventilation for the underbody, and also lets you keep the laptop on your lap without the hot body touching. Also, the case does not cover the ventilation slits at all, so the mac doesn't run hotter when you put this case on. In summary, I think this is value for money. It doesn't look fancy, but quite sober, and barely noticeable. It does not add a lot of weight to the mac. I, at least, haven't felt any difference carrying the mac around with the hardshell case on. If I had known about this earlier, I would have bought it sooner and avoided the few nicks that my mac got. However, if you don't plan to carry your mac around often, this case probably won't make any difference, unless you want to try the colored versions to color up the mac!

Ottima

Amazing cover
Check the photos, and believe it or not, the cover is installed in my Mac. This case fits so well in a MacBook that you almost can't see that it is there. Very well made and really protects the corners of the screen and the MacBook. The foldable feet rise the MacBook to a very comfortable position to work. I recommend it to everyone that wants a really transparent case protection for your MacBook.

Comes with a keyboard protector as well (US)
This is a really good case on the cheap end, it does not fit perfectly on one corner, so the clip there is loose, but it does not make a difference in the use. The keyboard protector though being great is sadly for US keyboards, you can use it on a UK keyboard as ell, but the layout of the right side enter key differs, so it looks slightly off. Still, for the price, it deserves 5 stars. I ordered a Uk keyboard protector now for my personal MacBook pro, and use the one I got here on the work laptop. Great to keep the keys from getting dirty and greasy (getting stuck is an issue on some MacBook pro's.
