3M PELTOR Hearing Protection Optime 105 Earmuffs, E-A-Rfit Compatible, Assembly, Sanding, Grinding

I've had the 3M WorkTunes Connect Bluetooth overhead hearing protection earmuffs for a while now. The seal tends to break when moving my head around and the quality of the sound is lackluster. I also have big ears and they are uncomfortable for me.I tried the ISOtunes Link Aware for one work day and then returned them. They sealed even less than my 3M WorkTunes and there was a slight staticky sound added to music. They also felt much heavier.After that disappointment I decided to avoid the hearing protection earmuffs with built-in speakers and Bluetooth all together because they seem to do just an average job of blocking noise and reproducing sound at best.I decided to get these 3M Peltor Optime 105 due to their higher rating of sound dampening and because the earcups are deeper and roomier.Well, everything worked out for the better. The 105 is better at blocking noise, have plenty of room for earbuds and are lighter and more comfortable.I am using a pair of Soundpeats Sonic Bluetooth earbuds because they sound great for the price and run for 12-15 hours in-between charges.I also considered the top rated 3M Peltor X5A model but felt that the larger size and price wasn't worth the slight improvement of blocking out noise. I read that the X5A is a little better at blocking out voices where as for my application I need to block out loud power tools on construction sites.It was also nice to see that the 3M Peltor Optime 105 earmuffs are assembled in the USA, albeit with globally sourced materials.I also looked into the Decibel Defense brand was turned away by the reviews. They look to be lower quality than the 3M with just a plastic headband connecting the earmuffs together, which will be prone to cracking.

Let’s start with the time it took to get these delivered. Not good, we’re talking about two months. So why the 5, Stars? Annoying wait time but superb ear protection.They have an adjustable strap that goes over your head so you can wear a ball cap with these. You can wear a welding helmet, you can put on a full face clear visor for grinding.Best sound attenuation of all the ones I own. Yea yea I have a lot of ear protectors. Cheaper ones for general use, special ones for shooting, and those wonderful ones for serious ongoing noise like running a grinder for hours.These are comfortable, they work, but the ear muffs and the head band wore out after 8 years and I needed new ones.I recommend them and I did buy them again. But order well ahead of time because the delivery process truly sucks.

As described and fast shipping. Well made with good sound protection. I use these with zero turn mower and chainsaw and am pleased with them. I am also able to used bluetooth ear buds to listen to music with minimal sound interference.

Fit a little tight around my (big) head but fairly comfortable and did reduce the sound of my lawn mower relatively well as advertised. On hot days they do add to the sweat factor given the ear cups are essentially like wrapping your ears in plastic though I guess that’s the lesser of two evils given you would want some that absorbs/holds the sweat (though maybe something that was washable would work more comfortably?).Admittedly, I was disappointed as my hope was to wear this over my beats fit pro while mowing to both enhance the music clarity and also protect from them falling out of my ear and getting mowed. It is very difficult to get these to sit around the beats fit pro without engaging the control buttons (the ear cup opening is not big enough).

I've had a few pairs of muffs before and mainly use them for shooting and lawn work. I've only used these once but they seem to work very well. The noise reduction is nice and they are fairly comfortable to wear. The over the head can comfortably be worn over a ballcap. I saw a few reviews saying these aren't adjustable. Its clearly shows on the packaging to put them on your head and then pull the muffs down until they fit. It takes a little bit of a tug to get them moving but they will adjust to fit just about any adult sized cranium.I did notice they are a little on the heavy side compared to my other ones but these do offer much better protection. The only thing I'm worried about on these is the material they used to make the ear muff. Its very thin and feels like it will rip easily. I hope thats not the case. 3M sells "Hygiene kits" for these which are nearly as much as a new pair of muffs.

Can't really find any negatives for these ear phones after owning two sets for a while. Use them when doing yardwork with a mower or string trimmer and they work well and don't get too uncomfortable until wearing over 30 minutes at a time. We'd recommend them.

Inexpensive, well-designed, comfortable, this set is a breeze to use. The cups surround the ears, resting on your head and the contact surface is so large that you can wear them for hours with no fatigue. When you want them off temporarily, just lift the cups off and wear the set around your neck. I truly forget I have them on within secondsbof putting them on, and the noise reduction is substantial. I have used earplugs for many many years, but they are awkward to get in and out. For work, where these won't be "in the way" these are MUCH preferable to earplugs.

These work just like I expected them to. I can wear a big hat now with these.
