Great replacement controller
This replaced the wireless controller in my Emerson fan. Worked great and was easy to install.

A “must have” to go with Emerson fans
I have multiple Emerson Fans in my home with this wall switch to control in every room.

Allows for dimming of fan and light without complete rewiring.
The electrician subcontracted by Amazon recommended I purchase this for ease of install, otherwise, i would not have known how it works. It made for a easy (read: inexpensive) install and I'm very happy with the way it works. It allows for dimming of both the light fixture and the fan without complete rewiring. Looks professional too!

Perfect to retrofit dimmer lights to existing fan
Does exactly what I wanted it to, I don't have enough wires in be wall to use a wired control for both lights and the fan, this unit lets me control fan speed and light dimming independently.Took off one star for the following:The dimmer control is a bit annoying as you have to hold it down to go brighter, then keep holding to go dimmer.Installing the receiver in the fan canopy is a very tight fit (but all of these modules are similar in that regard).I'm using it with an Emerson Northwinds fan (not the K55 motor) and generic 3 light kits I picked up from a local store, using Cree 4flow LED bulbs. Overall a great combination that I'm planning on installing in all of my ceiling fans.

works perfectly
had to return the first wall mounted one which was defective so wanted to try a different type. This one works fine and is currently mounted on the wall.

Poorly designed, but functional
I received this wall control with an Emerson CF766 fan.My room had an existing fan controlled only by pull chains, no wall switch. On the wall there is however a switch for an outlet that we always leave in the "on" position. I thought it would be convenient to replace that switch with this wall control, since it appeared to be a wireless control. However, this is not possible due to the (in my opinion, idiotic) way this control is designed. The control, like many others of its kind, is designed only to replace an existing wall switch connected to the fan. If, like I did, you have a hard-wired fan with no wall switch, you cannot use this control. The only solution is to run a new wire from the fan to the control. In my case, I have plaster walls I would prefer not to rip open, so I installed a wireless remote control from a different fan instead of this one.The electrical explanation is that this control is designed to be wired in series with the fan; it has two black 'hot' leads and NO neutral connection. This means that it cannot power itself without being directly connected to the receiver unit. This seems to be an unfortunate industry standard that exists for reasons I cannot fathom. Since it communicates with the fan wirelessly (using RF), there is no good reason for it to require a direct connection to the fan. (Yes, without it, a neutral wire would be required--but this would at best already exist, and at worst require a trivial reconfiguration of some wires. A lot less work than opening walls to add new wires.)I wound up installing the control on a different fan in the house that already had a wall switch. The control is pretty huge, which make it a VERY tight fit in my 1940s-era electrical box. A small aluminum tab holds the ground wire on the bottom of the control. It was protruding too far, so I had to squeeze it tighter against the plastic body of the control to get it to fit. Keep this in mind if you're planning to use this in an older house.Operation of the wall control is adequate. The buttons feel responsive, although the layout is kind of confusing. The power button only turns the fan off. There is one button for each fan speed, and the light bulb button toggles the light. The rocker switch on the bottom cuts power to the fan entirely. Turning it back on restores the previous settings, although it waits almost 2 seconds before it turns the light back on, which is weird. (Pushing the light bulb button does not have this delay.)If you are planning to buy this type of wall control to replace an existing wall switch, I'd recommend one like Lutron Maestro Fan Control instead.

Awesome!
This was a replacement unit for another wall mounted switch. The wall control and receiver were easy to install and function great.

Works Pretty good thus far
I've had three of (other brand) R/C units fail in the same fan, so this one is running through a protected relay. Hopefully it lasts longer than a year.
