Zebco is a name that is synonymous with fishing. But, lets face it, their newer stuff has been crap for so long that people like me look for their older stuff at yard sales and flea markets anytime we can. For budget fishing I have been using a lot of Shakespeare stuff and that has been pretty hit and miss. For every good Shakespeare in my shed is one that has needed tossed. Pflueger reels have ended up being my go to any time I can afford it, but they cost double what one of these reels do. My wife wanted this one and wouldn't settle on anything else, so I ordered it. I wasn't really expecting much out of anything with the Zebco name on it. The line that came on it, toss it, and put a quality line on there. Quality line isn't all that expensive and any reasonably good line makes this reel work smooth. It casts great, reels great, and hasn't had a single issue with the Berkley Vanish 12lb test that I threw on there. It impressed me so much that I ordered one of these reels for myself to replace a good Shakespeare that took me about 6 seasons of fishing to wear out. I dare say that this spincast combo is as good as my Pflueger President and is half the cost. Will it hold up over time, only time will tell, but it sure looks and feels like it is built for it. If you are looking for quality on a budget, you have found it.

I was looking for a decent quality push button for my kids to use at the lake. This has exceeded my expectations. It is worth the extra couple of dollars from the base models being sold on amazon. I haven't had any issues and seems to be decent quality for the money spent.

Seems to work well right out of the box. The daughter caught a big pike on it from the boat and the thing folded damn near in half and didn't break so it gets a thumbs up from me.

This combo is pretty good, the rod is a little light weight, I did catch a 1.5lb bass on it and it did the job. The reel is a great , it works as it should, decent drag, casts good, reels in good, I have added one more bearing which makes it even smoother, all in all another good reel combo from Zebco at a decent price from Amazon
