Alessi WAL03 Alessi Grind Salt, pepper and spice grinder, One size, steel

So for about 3 years we had a Peugeot rechargeable electric pepper mill. I thought it would be great when I’m cooking and not necessarily have two hands to deal with a pepper mill. It worked okay, and then it died. Not just the battery, it wouldn’t grind. So we needed a replacement. Since we have a number of Alesssi products and specifically Stark designed, we picked this pepper mill. Firstly, it looks amazing. I think it is very well constructed. Feels good in the hand, and the fact that it is stored in an upright position, you’re spared of the little sprinkles of pepper on the counter or table.As far as the grinding abilities. Perfection! With very little effort, you get a really decent amount of pepper being milled. You can adjust the size of the grind very easily. The only thing that is lacking is proper or easy to decipher indication of the direction to adjust between a coarse and a fine mill. But obviously, it isn’t rocket science and you can figure it out.The reservoir for the pepper corns is pretty big. You can probably fill around 3/4 of a standard peppercorn jar you can pick up at any grocery store. Great product! We are loving it! Great functionality and great looks!

Looks great, works great, then breaks. Plastic inner workings separated from metal exterior after less than six months. Too expensive for this to happen.

I love this! I actually bought the Black grinder for pepper and the Aluminum grinder for salt. The only caution I would give is that they are quite a bit larger than I expected: I guess I didn’t pay attention to the dimensions. Regardless, I do love them.

A real shame. Beautiful product. Grinds fantastically well. But on three separate occasions the top of the grinder separated from the bottom when being picked up and the peppercorns spill everywhere.

Bloody Brilliant . They look great well made strong .To be totally honest this is the 2nd best thing I have brought on Amazon....Expensive but bloody fabulous

Great design, very masculine, makes you wanna season everything!

Ich finde den Grind genial. Sowohl vom Design her als auch von der Qualität des Metalles (hervorragend verarbeitet, schwer und robust in der Ausführung) sowie der Qualität des Mahlens (die Pfefferkörner werden einfach und in m.A.n. perfekter Größe und Ausführung gemahlen) hervorragend. Auch das Einfüllen ist äußerst einfach: Man zieht einfach den Deckel ab und füllt die Körner ein. Gefahr des Verschüttens besteht nicht, auch das Auf- und Zumachen der Mühle ist einfachst. Sehr erstaunt war ich von der Hochwertigkeit der ganzen Mühle, wobei ich als Vergleich und Präferenz nicht gerade unbekannte, sondern mindestens Peugeot-Mühlen (und dabei mehrere und auch recht hochpreisige Modelle, z.B. die "Le Moulin d'Olivier Roellinger"), Mühlen heranziehen kann. Die Mühle steht mit der dicken und großen Unterseite auch hervorragend auf dem Tisch und sieht sowohl in schwarz als auch silber - ich habe sie mir nach der schwarzen auch noch in der silbernen Farbe gekauft - wirklich top aus. Das Mahlen - und sogar nur das Anschauen - bereitet mir tatsächlich jedes Mal Freude, auch, wenn es sich nur um eine "normale" Pfeffermühle handelt mit der man ja eigentlich nichts weiteres als, tja: Pfeffer mahlen kann. Sämtliche andere Mühlen "schlafen" seitdem im Schrank bzw. werden nach und nach auf ebaykleinanzeigen verkauft. Deshalb insgesamt 5 Sterne. Das Produkt ist seinen - zugegebenerweise absolut doch nicht gerade geringen, aber relativ gesehen - man erhält immerhin ein hochwertig verarbeitetes, von einem bekannten Designer entworfenes, Produkt - nicht überhöhten Preis meiner Ansicht nach definitiv wert.

Oggetto oltre che bello robusto ed utilissimo: non lascia residui di macinato sulla tovaglia in quanto il grinder è in alto, ed è possibile regolare perfettamente la grana della macinatura. Unico sul mercato con queste caratteristiche e quindi il miglior macina pepe/sale oggi esistente-

Como admirador del buen diseño industrial, el producto me parece una maravilla. No es un salero para el día a día, pero sin duda es una estupenda adquisición para cenas especiales con amigos. Se puede dejar perfectamente en el comedor como pieza de decoración, aunque para gustos, los colores. Por ese precio sin embargo, me esperaba algo mejor que una maquinaria interior de plástico en la parte de distribución. No obstante, da impresión de durabilidad, por si la garantía de ser de Alessi no fuese suficiente.Funciona sin problemas y no es apto para manos pequeñas, pero no es incómodo para uso esporádico. El comentario es el mismo que para el de color aluminio, pero este en negro me parece más bonito.
