Narrower design - still my favorite
I've been wearing the Ultra Kane since the first version. That is, I've gone through red, blue, green, now to this blue with yellow. This current year model has the same lacing pattern as the red and green. They are noticeably more narrow than all previous year models. The real telltale sign that there was a design change is that the flare in the sole on the inside forefoot has been sculpted away. I was hesitant that these would be too tight, but after a first few runs, they feel and perform as good as previous models. Upon closer inspection, nearly all the details of the shoes are identical: the front toe piece, the loop on the heel, etc. But if you flip over the shoes and compare the sole witdh, it is narrower, although the design is the same. Overall, this remains my absolute favorite shoe, though I've yet to do a long run to determine if the more narrow format presents as a problem in terms of friction/blisters, feet enlargement over distance, etc. The huge plus which still remains with the Ultra Kane is that they are sockless - great for triathlon and, to me, for all running including up to half and full marathons.

Very tight, narrow fit 😟
I really like the look of the shoe. The lacing is different but no complaints. The material fits and feels like a water sock. Very tight. It feels good at first but as you run it gets very uncomfortable. Today after only running five miles I noticed my toes were bleeding and bled through the top of the shoe. I do not have wide feet but if you have very narrow feet these might fit perfect. I have Zoot clothing and love it. This is my first attempt at Zoot shoes and I think I will need to stay with Brooks and Hoka One.

Too snug
It is kind of tight in the forefoot. I have another pair of Zoot sneakers in the same size but different model, which fit well. These are too snug, and also difficult to put on. I tried using a thinner insole, but they still are too snug. Even without socks they are way too tight. I usually wear 9.5 or 10 in most shoes and these 10.5's are way too small.

Zoots are the best
Zoots are simply amazing. I run with them - have 4 pairs on rotation and put a lot of miles...Whenever I can I wear them as simply everyday tennis shoes as well considering their confort - Rotate between these and Kalani's

Great light shoes
Great light shoes with cushioning that are meant to be worn without socks. They work even with socks for me. I haven't run in these shoes yet. I will update this review after I run with them. I usually wear a size 11 ascis or Brooks shoe.

I love this shoes
I bought it because I want to give it a try to the zoot and this shoes really rocks! Great cushioning and very light. It's very confortable even when you're not using socks. It takes a while to acustom to it but it's fine later. The only reason for giving 4 stars is the price because I consider 150 bucks is kind of expensive. You can look for other brands with only a hundred. One advise: buy your regular size so you can take the decision later to use it with sock or without it.
